this is my first oneshot covering one of the female characters and i had a ton of fun writing this ^^ i love Ochako despite all the hate she gets. if you guys want more female characters, please let me know!

I flopped down at my desk, tired even though the day hadn't even started yet. My bag fell with a thud, landing next to my feet while I buried my face in my free arm. "Y/n-chan?" A sweet voice called out to me, making my heart leap out of my chest. Tilting my head, I peered up at the brunette. "Hey Ochako-chan..."

"What's wrong?" She gently pushed me, wanting me to scoot over so that we could share the seat. I grudgingly moved, forcing my tired face out of the comforting darkness of my arm. I rubbed my burning eyes, letting out a heavy sigh. "I'm just really tired... I got almost no sleep last night..." Ochako leaned forward to see my face, nodding when she saw my dark circles. "You do look tired,"

"Wow! Thanks." I sarcastically commented, letting out a weak chuckle; that's exactly what you want your crush to say to you first thing in the morning. "Oh, not like that! You don't look bad or anything!" Ochako waved her arms around wildly, giggling. Simply nodding, I yawned, stretching my arms out in front of me. The bell rang and she ran back to her seat, leaving me to doze throughout first period by myself.

"Ugh, today was so tough..." I dragged myself back to the Heights Alliance, ready to take a shower and then fall asleep, but the stack on homework in my bag begged to differ. Ochako watched me stumble with a worried expression. "Are you going to be okay, Y/n-chan? What have you even been doing that would've kept you awake?"

Blush began to sting my cheeks, the answer much too embarrassing to say out loud. "Umm... I have insomnia!" Thinking of the most logical lie on the spot, that was what came out of my mouth. "Insomnia?!" Ochako jumped a little, running up to check my face more closely. "Ah, Ochako-chan! You're too close!"

"You do look like you haven't been sleeping well at all... I don't want you to start looking like Shinso!" She ribbed my and I couldn't help but laugh. "Don't worry, Ochako-chan. I'll be fine." I gave her a small wave and a grin before heading for my room.

After taking a long, hot shower and finishing up all my homework, I was finally ready to work on my project. The real reason on why I had been staying up so late every night was sitting right on my desk. Littered with every color of paper that you could imagine, my desk was covered with scraps of worthless failures and little triangles from where I had cut out certain parts.

A stout ceramic vase that I had hand painted was filled to the brim with a variety of origami flowers, each one blooming with their petals crisply folded. Ever since the beginning of the school year, I had been crushing on Ochako and I finally decided that it was time for me to try and confess.

I was going to give her the bouquet at the same time; sure, it was cheesy, but with every flower that I folded, it gave me a little peace of mind. Making these was almost like meditation for me. Maybe that's why there were so many stuffed into the little vase. I was almost positive that she liked Midoriya, but I was tired of waiting for the perfect moment. I would make the perfect moment... Hopefully.

I placed the last flower into the center of the mix, taking a deep breath. Grabbing a bottle of perfume from off of my dresser, I spritzed the paper flowers with it. "They're done..." I glanced at the time; it was only 10:26 pm, but that was a little to late to deliver them. Or maybe it was the perfect time, when nobody else would be around. Or maybe I should simply leave them by her door.

As I stared at the bouquet, trying to decide, there was a knock at my door. Tentatively opening it a crack, a big brown eye stared back at me. "Ochako-chan?!"

"Y/n-chan!" She burst through the door, smiling with two cartons of flavored milk in her hands. "I came with milk! I was worried about you earlier, so I wanted to make sure that you slept okay tonight. I've heard milk is good for sleepy, right?" I laughed a little, accepting the carton. "I think that applies to hot milk only,"

"Really?! Well, this tastes better..." She stuck her straw in, already enjoying the sweet drink. Her eyes drifted around my room until the landed on my desk. Realization shocked my body; like an idiot, I had left it out in the open. And now Ochako was all over it, staring at it with wide eyes. "Y/n-chan, this is amazing! Is this why you've been staying up so late?"

I spun my straw around, nervously staring at my feet. "Yeah, it is. And really? You think so?" Ochako nodded, sniffing them delicately. "Yeah, for sure! They even smell sweet like flowers!" With a mischievous smirk, she turned back toward me. "These don't happen to be for anyone special, do they?"

"Well! Umm!" I raised my hands to defend myself, but she was already in my face, demanding answers. "C'mon, just tell me, Y/n-chan!"

"Maybe..."

"I knew it! Who? Who? Who?!" I stared back, petrified; this was not what I had in mind when I decided that I was going to confess. Frantically glancing around my room, my eyes landed on a stray flower that I decided not to put in the bouquet.

Sucking in my breath, I walked up to it, tenderly holding the paper flower. I looked back to Ochako with rosy cheeks. "Well, you see," I took the flower, placing it in her hair, gently curling the stem around her ear. "The person I like... Is you, Ochako-chan."

She stared back, her adorable brown eyes widening. "Me?" Her voice was soft, but hopeful. I nodded bashfully, blush blooming on my cheeks when she wrapped her arms around my neck. Soft lips met mine, the taste of strawberries lingering on my tongue from her touch. Ochako giggled, averting her eyes after the quick kiss. "What a coincidence... Especially since I feel the same way, Y/n-chan."
