"Whoa, this is great too! Nobody makes better grub than you, Y/n-chan!" The blond male cried out as he slurped up the noodles that swirled around in a rich pork broth. I giggled fondly, leaning against the counter that separated the two of us. "Well thanks, Toyo, though I have to wonder if you're telling the truth. You say that every time you come here." He paused from eating for a brief second to look at me in utter disbelief. "Um, I would never lie about food. Ever."

I arched on of my brows, leaning in a little bit closer to him. "Ever?" Instead of an answer, I got a mouthful of ramen. My eyes went wide with surprise as I leaned back, quickly slurping up the noodles into my mouth. "Ever!" Toyomitsu cried out cheerfully, laughing loudly; luckily the restaurant was empty at the moment, so he wasn't bothering anyone's meal. I shook my head as I chewed, rolling my eyes with a smile. "You're such a clown,"

"Well, Y/n-chan," He grinned, pointing his chopsticks at me. "That you would make you part of my circus~" I laughed again, pushing his chopsticks back down. "Don't point, that's rude. Now finish your food before it gets cold." I gently hit the top of his head with the side of my hand, not really meaning anything that I said. The two of us had grown very close over the three years that he had been coming here. We were the same age so it wasn't very long before we completely hit it off, though I did end up getting yelled by my mom at more often because I was talking more than I was cleaning.

"Thanks for the meal!" Toyomitsu's voice cut through my thoughts as I stared in awe at the empty bowl. "Already?! That was fast even for you, Toyo..." I grabbed the bowl, admiring how he managed to get ever last drop of broth out of it. "I can't help but eat fast when it's tasty," He whined, stirring around the ice in his water with his straw. "You flatter me so~" I waved my hand dismissively, pretending to seem more flustered than I was. I took great pride in my cooking, after all; complimenting my dishes was just as flattering as if you had complimented myself.

"I'll be right back, let me take this first," I grabbed all the miscellaneous plates and utensils from around him, piling it up on top of one another and balancing it all on my arms. This time it was his turn to look at me in wonder. "H-How?" He sputtered as I winked at him, walking casually to the back. After about eleven years of this, I had become somewhat of a pro.

"AH Y/N HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU DON'T DO THAT!" My mom practically screeched, running over to me to grab the dishes. "YOU ALWAYS DO THIS AND THEN THEY FALL AND BREAK!" I sighed heavily, carrying the ones that I still had to the sink so that I could rinse them off after Toyomitsu left. "Mama, I've done this so many times, the last time I dropped something was years ago." She smacked my arm when I said that, clicking her tongue. "Well you never know. Stop showing off just because that boy is here."

"And that's my cue to go back to the front of the house-" I deadpanned, turning on my heel and walking back to the front. Before I could escape, my mom grabbed my wrist, forcing me to turn back around. She looked at me with her tired, but loving eyes that never seemed to stop twinkling, even after dad left. "You can have the rest of the night off, Y/n,"

I stiffed up at her words. "W-What? Mama, there's no way you can clean all of this by yourself-"

"Y/N!" She reached up, holding my face with her overworked hands. "Just listen to me for once!" I was stunned silent by the sincerity in her voice, the tenderness in her touch. She smiled before continuing, letting her hands fall from my face to my shoulders. "It's okay. Go be a teenage for once. Enjoy yourself tonight,"
