I woke up that morning, feeling fresh and new. Because today I was in a brand new house, in a brand new town (well, kind of), and I will be starting at a brand new school. Besides feeling fresh and new, I was dreading walking into those front gates of the school. I was scared about the people I would meet there and the challenges I would have to face. My past school years were difficult - hanging out with a bunch of people who I basically just hung around, but weren't my real friends.
"Kendall, are you almost ready? You have to leave for school in five minutes!" Mum shouted from downstairs.
My eyes widened as I quickly looked at the clock to see what time it was. 8:00 AM. School started at 8:30 AM. I quickly jumped out of my comfy warm bed and rush straight to my closet to take out my school uniform. It was quite a boring, blue and black summer dress with a matching black jumper. It took me about three minutes to get dressed, including putting on my socks and school shoes, so I had two more minutes to brush my teeth and do my hair.
After brushing my teeth, I plugged in my straightener and waited for it to heat up. As I waited, I rapidly tapped my finger on my new bathroom's sink. The straightener beeped after one minute, a quick straightener it was. Strand by strand, I straightened my long, wavy gold hair. When I was done, I examined myself in the mirror infront of me. I had thick, peach coloured lips that seemed to complement my pale skin quite well. I've always wished for tanner skin, but to be honest I was pretty happy with my appearance. A lot of people wonder why I've never thought of modelling, but I'm just not that type of girl. They also wonder why I've never had a boyfriend, or why I'm 16 and I've never had my first kiss. Well, not properly anyway.
When I was done getting ready, I grabbed a museli bar for breakfast and headed out the door and into the car.

"Good luck honey." Mum smiled as she stopped the car in front of my new school.
"Thanks, mum." I hopped out of the passenger's seat and headed towards the car boot. I took out my freakishly large school bag and slammed the boot behind me. She drove off as I waved goodbye, then I headed towards hell.
My stomach kept doing backflips as I walked into the front doors of the school. I walked slowly, looking down most of the time. Every now and then I looked up, just to get a glimpse of my new school. A lot of people were staring at me, either with confused looks or just a plain 'oh, a new girl' sort of look. And then there were the people who really couldn't give a shit about an unfamiliar face walking down the hallway. I felt so nervous, I absolutely hated the fact that I didn't know anyone and nobody knew me.
"Class, can I please have your attention for two minutes?" My new homeroom teacher asked. I was standing at the front of the classroom door, waiting to be invited inside. The whole class was chatty and noisy and to be honest annoying. No one was listening to the teacher, they just continued laughing and shouting and chatting away.
"CLASS!" she shouted.
Suddenly everyone stopped talking, some still trying to hold giggles in and some still looking at their phone or doing other things, but still listening. I noticed that this class didn't pay much attention at all - for all the obvious reasons and also because none of them noticed that there was a new girl in the class until the teacher finally got everyone's attention.
"This is our new classmate, Kendall. She's come from three hours away! Would you all like to give her a warm welcome and hello?" The teacher asked the class, but none of them react. I give a small smile and a low wave but still, no one is as kind to even wave back. I got a few smiles though, so I guess that counts?
I looked over to the teacher after my unwelcoming-welcome.
"Alright Kendall, why don't you go and sit in the middle row over there, the third seat from the left." She whispers to me, pointing to my seat. She looked like she was disappointed with the class but tried to hide it.
I walked over to my seat, and awkwardly sat down. On my left was a weird guy with short black hair. He had glasses and didn't ever look up from the book he was reading. To my right was a surprisingly beautiful girl, with tanned skin and long, straight black hair. She didn't seem to be doing anything but look at her nails, so I decided to try and make a friend.
"Hi, I'm Kendall," I started, but I hesitated to think of what else to say.
Her head turned towards me and gave me a dirty look. I definitely wasn't expecting that, so I tried to play nice.
"Um...I adore your hair!" I said with a try hard smile. She gives a fake and sarcastic smile then opens her mouth.
"Look." She paused, then her eyes moved from the top of my head to my bottom of my shoes, scrolling up and down.
"If you're trying to..make friends, then you're looking at the wrong girl."
"Oh! Um, sorry, I didn't know you weren't really into that." I said, shyly.
She lets out a small chuckle.
"Oh honey it's not that, it's just, well...girls like you, are not my type of friends." she announced, giving her long, smooth hair a bit of a flick.
"Right." I said with a rude tone, then turned away.
Well that was a great start to my school life.
By the time recess came, I still hadn't made any friends. I felt so awkward outside, having no one to sit with. Sitting by myself was my only option, so I decided to sit near a tree where other people were sitting, so I didn't look like much of a loner. As I crunched into my juicy apple, I chose to observe all the people at the school. There was a pack of gorgeous girls who I assumed were very popular at the school, and then everyone else around them. That's what it was like. They all had their skirts up their bums and their faces very well done up. I noticed that that rude girl I sit next to in class was part of that group, and I also noticed that she kept staring at me which made me feel uncomfortable.
Looking at those girls just brought down my self esteem, so I moved on. Hot guys...it wouldn't of hurt to look for them! But after minutes of looking, none of them were my type. None of them were good looking...ugh, no eye candy for me at this school! My eyes veered off to far right. Two girls who looked like they were in the 'in group' were walking down the stairs, so I rolled my eyes to the fact that there were more of them rude people, until I saw who they were talking to.
Behind them, was a tall, attractive guy with light brown hair. I couldn't believe his hotness, I wasn't even sure if it was legal to look that good. As he got closer I almost started drooling, but I stopped myself because it would have been so embarrassing if he saw me. The sight of him gave me warm tingles down my spine, like I've almost seen him somewhere before. Him and the two other girls stopped near a wall, and they all started laughing together. He was now close enough so I could see his eyes. But as soon as I did, I almost stopped breathing.
My eyes widened.
My heart stopped completely.
I felt like I was going to die, with either happiness or shock, I didn't know.
I couldn't control myself, so I jumped up and rapidly walked towards him. Why was I doing this. I'm going to make an idiot out of myself. Before I knew it, I was standing only thirty centimeters in front of him. He stepped back.
"Um...can I help you?" He asked, looking uncomfortable. The two girls next to him tried to hold in laughter, but I didn't know why.
I had tears in the corners of my eyes, and a smile spread across my face. I think I was going to cry in happiness and disbelief. I took a deep breath and tried to control myself. I looked at the amazingly attractive guy in front of me. His bright blue eyes just stared at me with impatience.
Before I said anything, I thought back to my childhood for a split second of a sentence.
"You have the most bluest eyes I've ever seen!"
Back to reality.
It was Jason.
