The next morning, I woke up feeling really sluggish. I really didn't want to go to school and face a social disaster again. But of course, I had no choice. I quickly slipped my school dress on, and buttoned all four buttons up. After I had breakfast and brushed my teeth, I brushed my hair and tied it up into a neat high pony tail. My golden hair was long enough to touch the top of my lower back. I then grabbed my backpack, and walked towards my mum's car to wait for her to take me to school.
That day at recess, I decided not to sit in the same spot near the tree like yesterday. Because across from there was where Kimbra's group sat, and I'm sure Jason would eventually go over there. I had no idea where else to sit though, because wherever I did choose to sit would make me feel awkward anyway. I didn't want to come down to this option, but my only choice was to go and find a spot in the library where no one could see me.
As I walked into the library, I noticed that there were actually quite a few people in there. I thought that it would be a great opportunity to make friends, but once I looked at the people in the library, I thought that wouldn't be a good idea. There were a lot of people playing chess - back at my old school that was what weird people did because they had nothing better to do at recess or they were just huge geeks. There were a few people reading books with 'do not disturb' looks painted on their faces, and then there were a heap of nerdy guys playing some stupid game on the school computers. The library definitely wasn't the place for me, but if it was the only place where I could get away from judgmental people for a day then I guess it was perfect.
I found a quiet spot in a corner, which I sat down on the floor and crossed my legs. I pulled out my phone and plugged my earphones in so I would block myself out from the rest of the world. I tapped on shuffle and listened to whatever it landed on.
After a few minutes, I noticed that one of those nerdy guys started walking up towards me. I quickly steered my eyes down to my phone and pretended to text.
"Heeeeeeeeyyyy wassup girl."
Did he actually just say that or did he actually just say that? I looked up to him. He had short black hair and small, square shaped glasses.
"Um, hi..."
Can he go away now please?
"What's chillin'?"
"Can you..not?"
"Not what?"
"Not be so...weird."
He paused.
"Damn, I knew I shouldn't have greeted you like that! My stupid friends thought that I would be cool."
I let out a fake laugh.
"Well they got that wrong!"
"Heh heh, I'm Martin."
I really didn't want anything to do with this guy, but I introduced myself anyway.
"I'm Kendall."
After I said my name, I went back to pretending to text as a sign of telling him to go away. But he didn't.
"What's a hot girl like you doing in the library?"
My eyes widened, then i pulled out my earphones from my ears.
"Alright, I have to go."
I got up, then made my way for the exit.
"Wait!"
He called, so I had to stop.
"Do you have any friends?"
What the hell was this guy leading to? I just gave him a blank look, so he continued.
