I couldn't believe my eyes. Standing right in front of me, was my one and only childhood friend. All this time, I've been trying to find a real friend after him, and I was finally going to get him back.

"..Jason..is that you?" I asked, struggling to talk. My eyes were watering with happiness.

"Uh, yeah," he replied, looking quite awkward.

"It's me, Kendall!" I announced with a warm smile.

He paused for a moment, and had a good look at me.

"...Alright then."

His eyes moved to the opposite direction and continued to talk to one of the girls he was with, completely ignoring me.

"Jason!" I exclaimed, trying to get his attention again. Did he not know who I was?

"What?"

"Don't you remember me? We were best friends when we were little!"

The two girls next to him started chuckling.

"No...I don't."

"Are you serious? How can you not remember me? You were such an important part of my life!" Suddenly one of the girls cut in.

"Um Jason, who is this creep...like, do you actually know her?" The girl on the right of him asked, trying her best to hold in laughter.

I don't know what they were laughing at, to me this was a very serious matter. I almost forgot about his beauty, because I was so struck by what was happening.

"No, why would I know her? She's really weird hah." I was offended at his comment, but maybe I had something wrong.

"Wait! Maybe I have the wrong Jason...what's your last name?"

"Rick."

"It is you! Jason, its Kendall Harper, from kindergarten, from primary school, from...the past!"

Now he was almost laughing, but something told me that his laughter was fake.

"I don't know you..please go away."

"Jason...I can't believe you!" Tears almost slid out of my eyes, but this time of sadness.

"Look, why don't you stop annoying the guy and go back to where you came from!" The girl on Jason's left said with a smirk.

Before I even moved, the three of them walked away from me instead, laughing so loud so I could hear. But when they were just in the distance, Jason turns his head and gives me a 'sorry' look.

When recess ended, I had English class. We were meant to read silently, but I didn't have a book, considering I'm new. My English teacher gave me a book to borrow just for the class, which was just a standard 'To Kill A Mockingbird'. I honestly couldn't get into the book - I wasn't sure if it was because I found it super boring, or because I was just super depressed.

"Psst, new chick." I looked around to see who just whispered to me, and to my surprise it was the girl sitting next to me who I found extremely rude. I gave her a nod to show her that I was listening.

"I saw what you were doing at recess today." She squinted her face a bit.

"What do you mean?" I whisper back, playing innocent.

"Oh come on, it's so obvious that you're in love with Jason."

"Uh..what? What makes you say that?"

"Please, every girl is in love with Jason. Just not every girl can get him."

"You're making him sound like one of those cliche hot guys that are in movies."
