"Jasoooon!" Courtney sang as she jumped up before I could blink my eyes. Jason was standing right behind me, but I didn't move one inch. I just kept my head down and listened to what was happening.
I felt Courtney run behind me and next to Jason.
"I haven't seen you in a while, didn't you promise you'd come and talk to me this morning?"
"Courtney, I saw you yesterday.."
"I know but yesterday was ages away!" Courtney said in an annoying high pitched voice.
"Jason are you coming to my party on Friday night?" Ashley asked, interupting Courtney, thank god.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"
"I'm going too Jason!" Courtney added in, but I felt an awkward presence from behind me.
"That's great.." Jason responded with a 'tell me something I don't know' tone in his voice.
All of a sudden, being the idiot I am, I turned around and looked up at Jason for two seconds then realised what I was doing so I quickly turned away.
"..Kendall? Is that you?" He asked from behind. Oh great. My eyes widened and before I could respond Kimbra butted in.
"Yes it is...and...she'll be at the party too!" She said as quickly as possible.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"What?" Ashley also asked.
"What?" Courtney asked, but her's was bitter.
Kimbra gave Ashley a 'go along with it' look by widening her eyes and staring at her with a smirk.
"I didn't know you sat with these girls!" Jason exclaimed, looking at me. I turned around to him.
"Uh yeah, I only started sitting with them toda-"
"Yeah Kendall's always been sitting with us!" Kimbra interrupted again. Courtney then scrunched her eyebrows and crossed her arms.
"That explains why she was at the library at recess!" Courtney said sarcastically.
How did she know? Was it like she goes to the library too? Pfft.
Jason seemed to ignore Courtney's comment. "Well, I guess I'll catch up with you girls tomorrow. I have to meet up with Chelsea."
"Again? You hooked up with her last week!" Courtney complained.
"Who said I was hooking up with her?" Jason asked with a smirk, then walked off leaving Courtney standing by herself.
"Ugh, next time." She said as she sat back down with us.
"So, about this party..." I started, holding a confused look.
"Oh yeah! You can come if you want." Ashlea shrugged her shoulders. The rest of the group smiled and nodded. All except Courtney, of course.
"Ashley are you sure? I mean that's nice of you and all but seriously, way to ruin the party?"
"Courtney stop being a bitch!" Bella exclaimed.
"Whatever, I just don't want Kendall embarrassing herself, that's all." Courtney slouched back.
"Anyone and everyone goes to my parties anyway, so it wouldn't matter having one more person. Besides, I never know who half the people that turn up to them are!" Ashlea explained.
"Well thanks Ashley, I appreciate it. It's your birthday, yeah?" I asked.
Some of the group start chuckling.
