I had left Hidan and Sasori in their dorm, telling them I'd drop by to visit Deidara. I had also heated up some dinner to take to the blonde boy, perhaps it'd cheer him up some.
The hallways were dimmed, all the students in their own dorm either sleeping or doing who knows what.
Walking downstairs, I hummed contently to myself as it was a beautiful weather; the moon was out and bright, it was slightly chilly but the warmth of the dinner in my hands made it comforting.
Soon enough I had reached the art classroom, the only room with the lights open on the whole floor.
I carefully knocked as to not startle him and slid the door open, and surely there he was- an artistic mess.
"Hm, who's there?!" A voice spoke up from behind the easel.
The classroom was clean, pretty much as spotless as it could get.
"It's just me, barbie~" I giggled at his nickname, hoping it'd ring a bell in his head as to who it was.
"Ugh. It's you."
"C'mon, don't be so dry now. I got you food, be a little bit happy or grateful." Setting down the lunch box at the desk, I wander over to behind the easel and glance at the boy.
"I didn't ask for anything, go away. Hm." He scoffed and scrubbed some remaining paint stains from the floor before shifting to pick up shredded paper pieces.
He, himself looked like he had a wild night. Paint smeared across his cheeks with a few scraps of paper stuck in his hair.
Sighing, I got down onto my knees and collected the remaining scraps of paper from the floor. "I'll help."
"I don't need your help, Nao." He tsked.
"You're in no position to say that, look at yourself." I giggled and went to throw away the paper, as did he.
Once we threw away the trash, Deidara exhaled almost tiredly. "Finally done.."
"You can be tough all you want, asking for help won't make you any less of a man." I muttered as I opened a lunchbox, beckoning him over.
"What?" He groaned and come forward.
"Say aah~" I held up a dumpling for him, smiling brightly as I moved the chopsticks closer to his face.
"What?! No way." He crossed his arms and looked away stubbornly.
"Say aah~!! I swear they're really yummy, open up!"
"Nope, nu'uh!"
"I'll stop calling you Barbie if you take just one bite~" I chuckled and hovered the dumpling before him and he seemed to consider it for a moment.
He groaned and opened up, leaning forward to take a bite. His eyes brightened up as he savored in the taste, his 'tough' front fading away.
"See, you like it~ Isn't it good?" I chuckled and held up another dumpling for him.
"W-What? Totally n-not! Hm."
I stared at him for a few seconds before looking down quietly. "Oh."
Deidara blinked as he looked back at me. "No, I was only kidding! Don't be sad now! I swear I was only joking, it is really good, look." He held my wrist to bring the chopsticks before him and ate the dumpling. "Shee? It's sho delishyus."
I couldn't help but giggle at him trying to speak through a stuffed mouth. "You're so cute.."
Deidara's cheeks seemed to turn a light shade of pink as he looked away again. "Am not!"
"Whatever you say. Here, let me clean up your face a bit, alright?"
*DEIDARA'S POV*
While eating some of the rice, I watched as she went to grab a wet wipe from the teachers drawer.
'She's honestly one good chef,' I thought as I ate the last dumpling, suddenly feeling my face being turned away.
Nao cupped my face with one hand, leaning forward to wipe the paint smudge marks off my other cheek.
The proximity at which her face was at caused a surge of blood to my entire face, subconsciously.
"Deidara-kun, is the tissue so wet, you're catching a fever? Your face is too warm.." She paused as both her hands held my face gently, her dark eyes looking at me with such genuine concern.
"Deidara-kun..?"
Snapping out of my thoughts, I managed a bright smile and shook my head. "I-I'm fine!"
Nao stared at me for a little bit before giving a little nod, her hands cleaning off my face again with the wet wipe. Her hold was almost too delicate, or that it was just the softness of her skin.
I let her do her job as I merely looked at her, which she didn't seem to mind much. Those eyes were a beautiful shade of golden-brown as they were intently focused on me. The slightly ajar window blew cool wind in the classroom, flowing through her dark hair so smoothly, it was honestly such an ethereal sight. So gorgeous and oh, so artistic.
"There you go, you're all clean and perfect again!" She chimed out happily, her voice suddenly sounding so soothing to the ears- I'd rather listen to her voice all day than work on my art, hm.
"Oh my god, it's almost 11'o clock! C'mon, Dei. We should close up here and head on back."
I've been way too zoned out and focused on the words passing those plush lips of hers to notice what she had said. Only when she had turned to leave did I get back into reality.
Subconsciously, my body acted on its own.
I grabbed her wrist before she could fully turn to leave and tugged her towards me, leaning in and finally closing the distance between us.
