Author's Note: Since this is the modern era, no wars happened and basically every character is alive. ;) and most of them are around the same age, which is, 18 - 22.

Let's start by short introductions.
My name's Naoyuki Ito and I'm 19. Nobody ever really calls me by my whole name, like ever. It's only Nao. I'm a pretty laid-back person, but not this time.
It's gonna be my first day in college tomorrow. Oh, crap. It's tomorrow. The more I think about it, the more my stomach sinks.
"You fine, Nao? You look pale.. don't tell me you'll come down with a fever just before our first day!" My best friend shook me out of my stupor, a worried look on her face. I couldn't help but feel guilty that even if I was to fall sick, she'd had to go alone tomorrow. She had nobody, except me. And I had nobody except her. Her parents were, well.. dead. And mine were always traveling. So we depended mostly on each other.
"I'm fine, Rin. Just nervous and tired.." 'And extremely panicked because oh god, it's college. Where girls with raging hormones in slutty short skirts wander freely with their horny boy-toys.'
This is my best friend, almost sister-like, Rin Nohara. She's about my age, her shoulder-length chocolate hair freely hanging, which only complimented her fair skin. She was a medical student. She might act like a naïve child at times, but trust me when I say she was smarter than our high-school's previous health teacher. God. She got accepted into the state's top medical college, yet she denied the offer and choose a normal college for my sake, so she could be with me.
"You're doing it again!" This time I got lightly smacked at the back of my head. "Quit zoning out on me, Nao. We still have packing to finish, come onnn~" She grabbed my wrist and tugged at it gently, motioning me towards the packed boxes.
It was also gonna be tomorrow when we move into a dorm, our own dorm. This was scary, I wonder why.
A loud, obnoxious noise was heard from my growling stomach. I laughed it off awkwardly but Rin only sighed.
"This sucks.." She mumbled out with a huff before letting go of my hand. I shot her a curious glance.
"We're out of instant noodles. It's cold outside and almost evening. The nearest cafe is far, too. So let's just not-" She got cut off by my shoving her coat towards her.
"Oh, shush. You're just avoiding that place because you had a crush on a boy you saw there once. Once! The possibilities of him showing up at the same place, same time is below zero." By the time I finished speaking, she had her coat and shoes on, standing by the door way. I smiled, following behind.
Locking the door to our house, we happily skipped over to the local cafe, which was just a few blocks down. Everything was golden, perfectly golden. The sun was setting, fireflies slowly started coming out. It was almost spring.
Despite all the college anxiety, this was one of those beautiful moments that had me feeling calm and relaxed.
It had been some time since we've been walking as the light from a store reflected out on the street, the small bell hanging overhead the door ding as we walked in to our favorite cafe's; Rosé's Tea Club.
The warm smell of freshly baked cake and brewed coffee was inviting, it was comforting almost.
Me and Rin went over to our usual seat by the front of the shop, sitting by the windows.
"Hello, you two. The usual?" The waiter came up to us, his familiar face smiling down at us as he pulled out his notepad.
