As planned at school earlier in the day, Valorie was getting ready to hang out at the group home. She grabbed her money in case they went out before she left her room.

"I'm going over to Freddy's, I'll be back later!" she called out to her aunt and uncle, not waiting for a response before she went out the door and closed it behind her.

She went over to the house next door, walking up the steps of the front porch and knocking on the door. The van wasn't parked in the driveway so she assumed Victor and/or Rosa must be out.

A few seconds later the door opened and Valorie was standing face to face with Darla.

"Valorie!" The young girl exclaimed as she hugged the brunette.

Valorie hugged her back. "Hey, Darla."

They let go of each other and went inside. Darla led Valorie over to a handmade poster filled with writing and decorations.

"What's this?" Valorie asked, puzzled by the piece of art.

"This is a poster I made for Billy," Darla answered with a sweet smile.

Valorie furrowed her brows, confusion overtaking her features before a look of realization crossed her face. "Oh, yeah. Freddy told me that some new kid was coming to stay here. I must've forgotten it was today. Anyways, it was good to see you, Darla. If anyone asks I'll be in Freddy's room," Valorie responded before walking up the stairs.

She made it up the stairs and knocked on Freddy's bedroom door, not waiting for an answer before she opened it and walked inside. "Hey, loser."

"How many times do I have to tell you, I'm not a loser." Freddy rolled his eyes at his best friend.

"Hm, maybe a few more times." Valorie smiled at him.

"Wanna play some video games?"

"Hell yeah."

A few hours went by and they were playing a racing game. They were tied in the race until Valorie passed him at the last second and won.

"What?!" Freddy yelled as she laughed. "How did you win that?"

"I don't know, maybe I'm better than you," she winked at him, "I'm gonna go get a water bottle. I'll be right back."

"Alright, could you get me one? Don't take too long though, I'm challenging you to a rematch."

"Fine, but be prepared to lose again," Valorie said before she walked out of his room.
