I walked into my bedroom flinging my bag across my room and kicking off my shoes after a long day of school. My bedroom was the place where I felt most comfortable. I had a white, double bed, white TV cabinet with a flat screen TV and radio on top and framed posters of my idols and inspirations over my walls.

I laid on my bed and plugged my iPhone 3 in to charge. As my screen saver lit up, I saw I had a message I received 2 hours ago. I looked up at the name to see 'Damon.'

A smile automatically appeared on my face as I slid the lock bar across. I read the message that said:

"Call me when you get this. :)"

That was 2 hours ago, what if he thought I was ignoring him?

I pressed his contact details and began a call.

"Hello?" Damon's voice was husky, like he had just woken up.

"Hey, it's Renae. I only just saw your message."

"Oh, it's all good."

Awkward silence...

"What did you want?" I said was a small giggle on the end to not sound so rude.

"Oh yeah, I uh.. On Saturday I forgot to pass you your pen when I was picking up your things."

"You can keep it. I have plenty more."

"Nah it's fine. Plus I want to see you."

"Ohh."

Smooth move there buddy. I swear I was cursed with as much awkwardness possible.

'When?" I added trying to rid the awkwardness a little.

"How about tomorrow? Want to come over and have some dinner with me? I can pick you up from school?"

"Sure." I was smiling like a lunatic by now. "I'll see you tomorrow then."

I walked to into the school gates, hitching my backpack up higher making it more comfortable on my shoulders. It was Tuesday. Tuesday was my short day of school, 9am-1pm.

The school looked extra eary today as the tall green trees blew side to side. The sky was a dark grey colour and the wind was icy. I wish I had worn more clothing today. My school was just one simple white, rectangle building. The garden was neatly pruned and unlike most schools, there was no litter in sight. The teachers were nice, they treated everyone like adults and wouldn't force you to anything. Your future was in your own hands and it was up to you to succeed for yourself.

The one thing I hated about school, were the students. They all thought being 'cool' would get you through high school and they were always changing themselves to try and look popular. They were all so fake. Especially Brittany and her followers.

I walked up to my small locker and quickly typed in my code; 0712. I quickly grabbed out my Art books and started heading to the class. Art was my favourite class. We just painted or drew and listened to music.

As I rounded a corner I felt someone slam into me, making my books fly over the hallway.

"Watch were you're going, fuck." Brittany said as she lent down to pick up her own book.

I crawled forwards retrieving my things. "I'm so sorry, I didn't see you."

She slowly stood up, towering over me. "Arn't you the girl who tripped over at the shops?" She laughed.

"Uh, yeah." I replied as I avoided her eye contact leaning to grab my books.

"So you're just really clumsy right? Next time, you better watch where you're going or there will be problems between us. Ok?"

I quickly grabbed my last book and stood up.

Should I stand up to her or just leave it? 4 more months of high school left until I finish forever.

"Uh, ok.."

DAMMIT. Why am I such a push over?

I awkwardly walked to class as I kicked myself in my mind for being such a push over. Why on earth did I just let Brittany push me around like that? Why was she so intimidating?

The siren signaling the end of the day finally rang and I couldn't help but feel even more nervous.

I walked to the car park whilst still carrying my backpack. I started looking around for his car but I couldn't see it anywhere.

"Boo!" A familiar voice yelled behind me.

I turned around startled to come face to face with Damon - looking sexy as ever, if I may add.

"You scared me." I chuckled as I punch in the arm softly.

He ignored my playful hit and placed his hands onto my hips pulling me into a hug. My face was pressed against his chest. His hugs felt warm and relaxing. I felt safe.

If it wern't for us being in school for everyone to see I could have stayed in that moment forever.

Wait why? I didn't even know this guy.. He was a random who was 6 years older than me..

He escorted he to his car and I got in.

Not one of the other students realised I was in a car with a older man - but hey, when did they ever notice me at all?
