It had been a long 4 weeks since my mum had caught me in the car with Damon. She took away my phone and laptop privileges and grounded me after school and on weekends. Luckily I had a small stash of pocket money in my draw and bought a small pre-paid phone to keep in contact with Damon. We talked every night, whether it was by voice or text - we had really gotten to know each other well.
It was currently 8.37pm and I just got off the phone to Damon after telling my mum I was going to bed early. Damon was on his way over to pick me up. Time to do my first thing as a rebellious child. I quietly opened my window that lead to a tree branch hanging just under my window seal. I climbed out car fully trying not to make any noise. Once I reached the floor I wondered down the street to the corner where I waited for Damon.
I jumped at every car, step and rattle of the bushes surrounding me. I was afraid of the dark, well mostly of what was in the dark. This neighbour hood was really good, and as far as I knew it was really safe. But on the news there was always stories about people going missing and turning up in a box cut up. It just freaked me out.
His car turned the corner and stopped about 5 meters away from me. I casually strolled up to his car and got in. "Hey." I said as I clipped in my seat belt.
"Hey." He lent over and pecked my lips quickly. Seeing him made me realise how much I missed him and kissing him made me realise how much I missed kissing him too. "What if you get in trouble?"
"Then I guess I'll just have to deal with it." I mumbled.
We drove back to Damon's house, turned on a movie and wrapped ourselves up in a warm blanket.
"What time do you want me to take you back home?" He asked wrapping his arm around my shoulders.
"My mum wont wake up until around 12pm tomorrow, so just when ever." I smiled. I really didn't want to be a burden.
He smiled. "Do you want to stay the night?" He paused, "I'll sleep on the lounge and you can sleep in my bed."
"If it's okay with you. But I'm fine on the lounge."
"My house my rules." He laughed as he squeezed me tighter to his chest.
I just laughed as I snuggled my head into his shoulder. His muscles were such a nice pillow, I could sit like this for ages. The thought of knowing Damon for a month now was weird, especially thinking about the way we met. The day in the shops when I had fallen over in front of everyone. The thought brought a smile to my face.
"What are you smiling at?" Damon asked as he raised eye-brow.
"It's been almost a month since I made a fool of myself at the shops and got helped up by a random guy." I smiled.
He laughed as he pulled me into a hug. "I'm glad you fell over." He whispered in my ear sending shivers up my spine.
"I'm not, it's made people at school actually notice me. Not in a good way." I said quietly.
He tightened his hold around me. "Who? and what do they do?"
"Oh just a girl, and she just threatens me. But I have it under control." I lied as I smiled up at his adorable face.
"Who?" He asked. I slowly kissed him trying to change the subject. It was amazing how bold I was around Damon, 1 month ago I had never kissed a guy and I would have had a panic attack thinking about it, but now I was sneaking out of home to stay at a guy's house..
"If you don't want to tell me, it's fine. But I will do anything to help my girl." He smiled down at me.
I raised an eyebrow as a red blush swept across my face. "Your girl?"
"Yeah, you're my girl."
"Oh am I now?"
He grabbed my hand as raised to his face. "Can if you want to be." He slowly pecked my hand.
"Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?" I laughed.
"Uh.. no." He had a disgusted look on his face. A brighter red tinted over the blush I already had. "I'm just kidding." He laughed.
"Then ask properly." I said as I pulled back to sit in front of him with a smirk playing on my face.
He leaned forwards, bringing his mouth up to my ear. "Renae, will you be my girlfriend?"
I placed my hand on his jawline pulling his lips to mine. "Of course I will." I replied against his lips.
After the movie finished we laid on the small lounge together. I laid on the front and Damon laid on the back with his arms wrapped tightly around my waist. I must say, it was the best night of sleep I had had in a long time.

I snuck through the front door, only to walk into a stern looking mum. Shit, this isn't what I planned. She had her hands placed on her hips as her eyebrows furrowed together.
"Where have you been?" She didn't sound as angry as she looked.
I quickly replied the first thing that came to my mind. "I just went for a walk around the block."
"Oh okay." She bought it? Really? I was a terrible liar, since I hardly ever lied. "and I'm sorry about my harsh punishment. I guess just seeing you with a man who is so much older than you was a shock, plus I have never seen you so fond of a guy. I know how much you like this guy and I trust you. I want to meet him before you take things further though."
My mouth turned to a 'o' as I took in the words she was saying. Was she almost giving me her blessing? I leap forwards, wrapping my arms around her waist while hugging her close to me. I really do love my mum.
