Chpt 22: Summer Break: Goodbye

"I'm gonna miss you Ash." Kayla sobbed on my shoulder.

Tears fell down my face.

"I gonna miss you too."

Lexi and Taylor joined in too, crying. They hugged me and said they'll miss me.

I don't want to go. I don't want to go.

Justin, Lance and Brandon pulled me in for a group hug.

I squeezed my eyes shut tightly.

Please. I don't want to leave. Please.

"Ashley." I heard my dad say.

I slowly opened my eyes. The guys let me go and walked over to where the girls were standing. The girls eyes filled with tears.

"Five more minutes, baby girl." my dad said.

I turned around and Shane stood there.

I walked towards him and he immediately wrapped his arms around me. I held onto him and sobbed. 

Please. I really don't want to leave.

But I have to.

I pulled away and stared deeply into his eyes. He looked so broken. God. I can't believe I'm going to do this.

"Shane. I need you to do something for me." I said.

"Anything, Princess."

"I don't wan-" my voice broke.

I cleared my throat and started again. He cupped my cheek and stared intently at me.

"I don't want you... I don't want you to wait on me." the tears speeding down my face. "I want you to move on... And be happy."

"Ashley, don't say that." he wiped away a tear from my face.

"Shane, please. Do it... do it for me." I whispered.

"Ashley, please don't ask me to do this." he shook his head. "I love you Ashley."

"Ashley. It's time to go." my dad called.

I looked into Shane's eyes once more. "I love you." I gave him a peck on the lips.

"Ashley." he grabbed my hand and held it in his.

"Bye." I said.

I let go of his hand and turned around and slowly walked over to where my dad and brothers were.

"Ashley!" I heard Shane call. "Please!"
