#4 Shifting

   We walked to a secluded spot in the woods. Neither of us has a car and being in the woods is peaceful. We walked and he led me to a large pond. We sat down and listened to the water and the animals around us. It was silent for a while before he said something.
"So what do you want to talk about?" He was quiet and shy which I found adorable.
"Umm we can play 20 questions like in the movies" I looked over to him. He was looking at the water and thinking.
"Have you shifted yet and what color are you?" I asked because sometimes people are late shifters.
"Yeah, I'm black with some white." I can't wait to see and meet his wolf.
"What is your wolfs name?" He was looking at me with a faint smile. Moon Goddess be with me so I don't try to devour his face.
"Her name is Sola and she is very excited to meet you" I smiled at him. We just stared at each other for a while before he turned away with a light pink tint to his cheeks and ears. He is making so hard for me not to eat his face off.
"Siblings?"
"One brother his name is Cruz. You?"

    "I have an older step-brother who lives in the pack house as a warrior." His mood changed and he looked like he didn't like talking about his brother. I didn't push it because I didn't want to make him uncomfortable.
"Favorite color?"
"Black and red"
"So dark and mysterious. Mine are blue and green. " He chuckled and shook his head. His laugh made my ears explode from happiness and my wolf was practically screaming at me to lick his body. My face became bright red from her request and I tried to hide my face with my hair.

    I swear if you don't lick him once you shift I will take control and lick him myself
Sola I swear you better not, I will scare him away
Or he will like it and I will speed up the mating process if you know what I mean
SOLA NO, It is too soon and I am not trying to mate with him in the freaking woods were anyone could find us
We could mate in the water, That sounds cool why not? And it's romantic
Sola I swear shut up
"Hey are you ok? Your really red and you zoned out for a couple of minutes." He seemed worried. I just smiled at him and said I was fine.

    "Hey, you know how to swim?" He asked looking at the water. The thought of swimming with him made Sola start talking about water mating again.
"Yeah lets swim" I got up and started taking my shoes off then my pants and before I could take my shirt of he jumped from the ground and turned to face the other way. Aww he's shy
No. He probably will get a boner if he sees you in your underwear. Not that I mind though
Sola be QUIET please
I finished taking my shirt off and turned around to find him shirtless and about to take his pants off. My face got red as a tomato and I turned around fast like the fucking flash.
"I'm done." He said

    "Do you want to jump in or-" I didn't get to finish before I was picked up by him and he jumped in the water still holding me. I swam to the surface and started laughing as he came up. I went back under with him following. We stared at each other under the water then I swam further down towards some of the fish. We played water tag and he through me up a couple of times. I was happy and I could tell he was too. After we got out and air dried the put our clothes back on. I checked my phone and school was going to be out in 20 minutes so we walked through the woods talking and laughing.

    I stopped laughing when I felt this horrible pain all over my body. My legs gave out but Forrest caught me he looked worried then a flash realization was in his eyes. I heard snapping of bones and I tried to hold back a scream as the pain intensified. Forrest laid my head on his lap and whispered encouraging words. After what felt like hours the pain stopped and I opened my eyes. Everything was brighter and clearer. I felt like I could smell everything within a mile radius. I looked up and saw Forrest smiling down at me while he pet my fur.

    I stood up and walked toward the pond looking in the water to see my wolf. I was black and white striped with bright gold eyes. I started running in circles out of excitement. I heard a bark and looked back to se Forrest had shifted into his black wolf.
Lets go running. Come on he mind linked me and started jogging away. I chased behind him until I caught up. We raced and played hide and seek for hours till it starts getting dark.
It's getting dark we should start heading back now He nodded and I changed into some extra clothes I bought in my backpack. he changed behind a different tree then we started walking home together. We walked hand in hand to my house. I gave him a kiss on the cheek, told him goodbye then went inside. Once I clothes the door someone clears their throat. By the smell I could tell my parents and my brother were here.

    I turned to see the angry faces of my parents and the worried face of my brother.
"Where were you. I got a call from the principal saying you weren't in your last to classes. Your brother can't find you at school. And who was that bot outside?" My mother sounded like she was having a hard time staying calm. My dad growled at the mention of Forrest.
"I wasn't in my classes or school because I met my mate and we left school to hang out" There was no use in lying cause they knew and I would just get in more trouble. My brother looked less worried and he smiled at the thought of meeting my mate.

    "That isn't a good enough reason to miss school. Did you shift yet?" My father said looking less angry but still annoyed.
"Yes I shifted with the help of my mate." They were quiet for awhile trying to find a punishment. My brother hugged me and said he was going upstairs to sleep.
"You're grounded. You must come straight home after school and you will train with your brother. Got it?" I was pretty surprised because that wasn't a very bad punishment. I guess it had to do with it being my birthday and finding my mate.
"Yes mother." I told them goodnight and went upstairs to my room. I laid in my bed after my shower and thought about what happened today. I have a mate and he is amazing. I can't wait to see him tomorrow.
