Chapter Ten

Meeting Kaido

The throbbing pain of my left eye jerks me from my dreams and I scream out in pain. Gabriel rushes into the room from the bathroom and comes to my side. "Damian, love, what's wrong?" I'm in too much pain to speak. The pain worsens and Dominic comes barging in. "Damie!!" Gabriel sits by me and holds me. "Dominic, where's Vulcus?" He asks and my twin starts to cry. "I don't know I woke up and he was gone, but I know he didn't want to go because the room's in a mess."

'Damian! Help!' I hear Vulcus in my head crying for help. 'I need to know where you are bro." I tell him and he sends me an image of a dark castle. "Who the hell lives in a dark castle?" I ask as I ignore the pain. Gabriel groans and replies, "The Demon King Ryoku." I look over at my brother and wave him off. "I'm still not fully recovered from that day, Dom it's up to you to save Vulcus." I see him nod and leave the room yelling out for volunteers to go save Vulcus. I snuggle into Gabriel as I tell Vulcus his rescuer is on his way.

Dominic's POV

I make my way to the stables to get my horse I told the small group of men, I recruited to come with me, to meet me at the drawbridge. After saddling my horse I mount her and trot her out of the stables and then a slow run to reach the drawbridge. I see the men there ready. "Let's go! We have a dragon to rescue!" I shout as I bring my horse into a full gallop upon hearing the men following me. 'Hang on Vulcus I'm coming, my love.' I say to myself as we leave the village and follow the directions I got from Duncun to reach Ryoku's castle.

Vulcus' POV

My gaze snaps up to the cell door as it opens. "I swear the moment I am free I am killing you all!" I growl out as I watch my captor walk in. He laughs and kicks me in the stomach. "You may be a dragon but you are no match for me." I growl at him as he steps up to me. "Try to relax; I'm only using you as bait to draw out that cute slender twin with the wolf." I laugh at him. "Too bad for you he's not the one coming to save me." He raises an eyebrow. "How do you know this dragon?" I notice a movement behind him and growl again as the boy comes inside. "Answer me dragon." My captor commands as my gaze stays focused on the boy behind my captor. "The twin you seem to be interested in is my brother-in-law, and I assure you if Damian were the one coming your castle would already be falling down around you. He is no ordinary magic user." I spat at him keeping my gaze on the boy still.

"You seem quite interested in my son, dragon. Do you find him attractive?" I snort out a dry laugh. "I'm married as of last night so don't even play at that game, human." I notice the son looking at his father in a sad way before my captor exits the room leaving both of us in here as the door shuts and locks. "Not a very loving father if you're going to lock your son in here with me!!" I shout out. I hear his maniacal laughter echoing off the walls outside the door before silence. I hear the son sit down on the bed that I would have been using if that bastard didn't have me shackled to the wall opposite of the door. "He is no longer my father. The father I knew died the day he touched the amulet that is around his neck." I hear him say dryly. I look over at him and his eyes are gazing out the window.

"So why does he have you in here?" I ask him. He turns to me and I see his emerald eyes reveal his pain. "I wanted him to be the same as he was so I tried to steal that amulet and destroy it but he caught me." I send this info to Damian and ask, 'Can we save him?' A few minutes later he replies, 'Up to him. If he wants to be saved then I'll save him after Dom gets you back here.' I nod and see the son looking at me weirdly. I chuckle. "I have a mental link to the one I shared my magic with. He says if you want to be saved from this place he'll come and save you after I'm safely back at Prince Gabriel's palace." I watch his eyes widen, "You know Prince Gabriel?" I grin and reply, "Yes, he's married now." I see amazement pass through his eyes. "I never thought anyone would ever want to deal with his mule headedness." I laugh so long my sides ache. "He married an egotistic mage so I'm sure they make the perfect couple."
