So this was originially a story I had to write for english but then I turned it into a fanfic! (I mean its such a waste writing stories and not using them as fanfics!) Anyway, I hope you like it! oh and its in another universe, like theyre not in a band:) The beginning is slightly descriptive, but yeah :) Xxx

I took attentive steps, pine nuts crunching persistently underneath my careful feet. The sun had buried itself behind the horizon only moments ago and the air had cooled immediately. Tugging the vest closer to my chest to escape the uncomfortable breeze, I bit hard on my lip. Where was I to go now? The small streams of light trespassing through the canopy of trees were dimming, signalling nightfall and there was nowhere to go. I took in a deep and shaky lungful of air, fearing what was to come.

I'd lost them quite a while ago- an hour perhaps? They said they'd wait for me. They said that I could trust them. I acted rashly, I'd believed them absent-mindedly, however they did only the opposite of that and there was nothing to be done about it. I felt my stomach churn uneasily as I heard a high-pitched cry in the far distance. The only thing left to do was to keep walking, I admitted to myself exasperately.

Nervously, I slung my backpack over one shoulder, unzipping it and examining its contents. J.E.Y. Boys' Scouts only gave you the bare minimum for the daily afternoon hikes; all that was left in the khaki bag was an old rain coat, a packet of chewing gum, a half empty bottle of water, a greasy trail bar wrapper and a rusty pocket knife. Slipping the gum into my mouth, I chewed slowly as I thought hard. This goddamn forest can't be that big, could it? It must end somewhere. There must be some sort of civilization somewhere! Cursing under my breath, I increased the speed of my steps out of frustration, deciding that the only direction to go was forwards.

Squeezing my eyelids tightly shut, I clenched my jaw. I was lost; there wasn't any other way to put it.

It wasn't until I saw a flash of bright light through my eyelids that I shot them open with panic. The darkened outline of a human figure materialized in the shadows of the trees and my heartbeat accelerated furiously. Within a millisecond it disappeared and my breath hitched, causing me to swallow the piece of chewing gum. This can't good, I thought fearfully. This wasn't good at all.

"Is someone there?" I asked, my voice quivering with fright. The bushes rustled. Gulping, I squinted my eyes and peered closer at where I saw the figure. What if I'd imagined it?

"Yeah, I'm here"

I jumped at the voice behind me, my heart thundering ferociously against my ears. Spinning around, I found myself face to face with the outline of what appeared to be a young man. He was balancing a torch in one hand, cocking his head sideways as he examined me. The details of his face were hard to make out, but it was obvious from the sound of his voice that he couldn't be much older than I was.

"You alright?" He asked. He had a strong, northern English accent.

"Yeah" I breathed out shortly afterwards, scratching my neck. The figure stepped forwards.

"You lost? Do you want me to help you?" He asked uncertainly. I nodded before realising he couldn't see me. Apparently, however, he had as he took a step to the side and waved his arm, indicating for me to come with him.

"Follow me"

I did as I was told, thinking that it's better staying at a stranger's home than to spend a freezing night in the forest. The trip didn't last long; within fifteen minutes, I was face to face with a small, old cottage, hidden amongst the thread of trees.

"Over here" He whispered and I could feel his warm breath tingle against my cheek. Surprisingly, he walked past the front door and we trotted down to the back side of the cottage. Stopping in front of a small underground opening, he fished out some tarnished keys from the pockets of his trench coat and dug them into the ancient keyhole. He lifted the plank of wood and bright light and a rush of warm air escaped the opening. The boy turned around, and for the first time I saw his face; his eyes shone bright blue in the moonlight and his windswept hair glistened an auburn, honey colour. A light layer of stubble covered his narrow jaw and he shot me a lopsided smile, probably realising that I'd been staring for what was more than polite.
