I remember
being the only one awake and the lights around me go out
and only those lights
I see the lamps in my mom's room and realize my door has opened
I want to go to them
to feel safe within the warm light emanating from her room
and just as suddenly as I realized the door was open i see that it's closed
and im once again trapped in this suffocating darkness
only feeling fear
