"He's in shock."
Inko stared ahead, eyes widening in shock. "W-What do you mean? Is my baby going to be alright?"
"He should wake up in a few days at most." The doctor eyebrows creased with worry. "It's strange though."
Inko lifted her head to look at the doctor, her stare gleaming with curiosity. "What is?"
"The way he collapsed. It's like his body isn't used to his quirk."
"Oh... that..." Inko was filled with shame, signs of nervousness starting to appear as she tapped her fingers against her crossed arms, and sweat dripped down the sides of her forehead. "I regret it all."
"Mrs. Midoriya? Is something wrong?"
"Well, you see..." She began to cry, drops of tears falling down her cheeks. "A long time ago, my husband passed away."
"Oh! I'm so sorry about that." The doctor's voice conveyed in shock. "Y-You don't have to talk about it if you don't feel comfortable."
"No, no, it's fine." Inko casually waved her hand at him, turning down the offer. "I've needed to talk with someone about this for a long time. If there's any good time to do it, it would be now."
"If you say so."
"Anyway, Izuku thinks it's his fault that his father died, which is why he refused to use his quirk for the last ten years."
The doctor stared at Inko, suddenly aware of what she was implying. "Are you saying... that he hasn't used his quirk at all for the last ten years?"
"Yes, that's what I'm saying."

An aging man walked into the building, his dress shoes hurriedly clicking against the marble tiles as he approached the hospital's front desk.
The women in charge of the front desk looked up to skin and bones, two prongs of deep yellow bangs hanging over the man's hollowed eyes.
"Are you here for an appointment?"
The man appeared taken aback by the assumption, raising his hands and fiercely shaking his head. "Oh no, no. I'm here to see someone. Does Izuku Midoriya happen to be here?"
"Izuku Midoriya... Izuku..." The women typed some words into the computer before she found who she was searching for. "Ah! Izuku Midoriya is in Room 204. Just go upstairs, make a left and his room should be there. You might want to hurry though. After his check-up with the doctor he is being discharged."
"Alright. Thank you." The man turned and headed for the elevator before he was stopped by the receptionist.
"Wait a second. Are you perhaps his family?"
The man smiled. "No. I'm just... an old friend."

When the man finally reached Izuku's room, it was empty. The bed sheets were folded, and the nightstand was devoid of any patient staying in the room at all.
"Shoot... was I too late?" He stood for a moment in deep thought, when a poke in the back made him jolt up in surprise. "W-What the—!?" The man looked down to see a young boy with wild green curls and a freckled face gazing up at him.
"Excuse me? Are you really... All Might?"
"H-How... did you know?"

Good news. I'm alive.
Bad news. I'm a lazy freaking bum.
That's all that needs to be said.
