"You've got to do this," Klaus laughed, showing Juliet how to keep herself at least up right.
Juliet wobbled in her place, causing her to instantly grab at Klaus's arm for support. Klaus sucked in a breath as Juliet's gaze slowly met his.
"You make it look so easy," she huffed, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear.
Klaus shrugged, rubbing his nape, "Takes practice I guess,"
Juliet nodded, biting her lip as she let go of his arm and was able to stay upright beside him.
"But," he linked their arms, "For now, I'll be your crutch and help you," he gave a wide smile and she returned one, relaxing.
He nodded and smiled to himself opening up the door. Bringing out a hand he signalled a 'mermaid first' out the door, luckily Juliet caught on quickly saving any awkward explanation.
She carefully swam out, holding out her one arm for balance. Klaus followed her quickly, swimming out in front of her to take both her hands.
"Just look at me," he spoke softly.
"But won't you sw-" Juliet felt goosebumps rise up.
"I know the castle like the back of my fin so, it's pretty impossible I'd bump into anything. The Queen's bedroom is close anyways," Klaus read her mind, cutting her off only to reassure her.
He wanted to help her be comfortable and if it meant treating her like larvae, holding fin as it learns to adapt to its first swim, so be it. Plus, he admitted to himself, it was nice to hold her hands in his.
Klaus carefully started to swim backwards, pulling Juliet forward with him. She looked down mesmerized at how his tail moved in the water, how the bubbles rose and were pierced by the tail coming back down.
"Let it come naturally," he almost whispered as he looked at his own tail then back to her focused face. He internally cooed at Juliet's determination, how she bit the inside of her cheek and breathed slowly.
"Just think swim?" Juliet looked into his sparkling eyes with an uneasy expression, scrunching up her face, puffing out her cheeks.
"Well we're at the door so I guess it's working," Klaus gave a quick chuckle as his back hit the door.
He straightened himself up so he was no longer in a breast stroke position. He brought Juliet into his arms comfortably as she looked at him with an 'o' shaped mouth and big eyes.
"So I?"
"Yes," he laughed again as she smiled to herself, fist bumping the sea before losing a bit of balance.
He caught her quickly, leant in slightly, "But, you can still hold my hand if you need to,"
Juliet gulped as Klaus leant back from her face and turned to open the Sea Queen's bedroom door. As the large door was pushed back many bubbles escaped and Juliet was in awe of how spacious it was.
They truly had their luxury with a very spacious room. It was very minimal but it worked as the massive window in the side of room was illuminated with the under sea kingdoms special lightning's in its bustling school of fish and merfolk.
"Mom has the best bedroom view in the castle," Juliet turned to Klaus as they swam over to the massive window, "She loves how busy and free they are,"
It reminded Juliet of land as they saw a bustling market in the centre with mermaids and merman with all different and beautiful tails, extravagant and powerful. Definitely colorful too. The land looked black and white compared to them.
"She loves their sincerity, their caring nature towards each other. It may sound stalker ish but, she enjoys watching them get along with each other, start problems and resolve them,"
"Where is your mother? Their Queen," Juliet carefully asked, looking at Klaus's side profile which was much stronger than she thought it would be up close.
His mouth changed from its straight line to a smile again as he turned to face her, "She's gone travelling for a while,"
"Wait what about the King?" Juliet's face soon turned into worry, she couldn't have the very ruler find out she was in their palace with their prince.
"Hey, no need to worry," Klaus rubbed her shoulder, swimming over to a large wardrobe, "Dad is out with a large amount of our army to back up another kingdom against their rebels,"
He laughed it off, taking away an awkwardness. Opening up the Queen's wardrobe, he flicked through the items, "They've left me in charge, under supervision, of course, from Undina and the guards,"
Juliet gave a small laugh as she steadily swam over to Klaus who focused on inspecting through the clothes.
"Are you their only child?" Juliet leaned on the wardrobe, panicking when hearing a slight creek.
Klaus hummed, "Yep I am,"
"Lonely?"
He paused, hand held on a piece of fabric, "not really, Kai is like my brother so I don't really feel lonely in that department. Responsibility wise, I feel like I have so many more,"
Before Klaus felt like he could rant about being the future King, Juliet asked another question, curiosity engulfing her,
"Who's Kai?"
"Someone you need to meet," Klaus giggled as he brought out a clumped piece of fabric for Juliet. She smiled back.
"Try this on, I'll turn my back and cover my eyes," Klaus handed her the fabric and turned away instantly putting his hands over his eyes.
Juliet laughed opening up the fabric to reveal a silky material which stretched out like a dress from the trends on land from the year before.
She turned around, pulling off her top and pulling on the new dress like silk over herself. It felt weird to her that the material fit her so well, that it was so familiar and that it was the Queen's.
"Is it on?" Klaus warily asked.
"Yeah," she quietly replied.
Klaus turned around, sucking in a breath too quickly causing him to start to cough. Juliet reached out her arms in concern, while he just waved off to show he was fine.
"I think my mom has some shell and Pearl belts if that will make it more comfortable," he suggested swimming over to her dresser.
Klaus fiddled through the draw, pulling out just that and handing it to Juliet. She gave a small thank you as she tied it around her waist over the lavender coloured silk.
"You look lovely," his thoughts slipped out, "well camouflaged," he rubbed his nape awkwardly.
She thanked him again, pushing some of her hair out of her face. With some hope, she clicked her fingers which made a dull sound in the water. From the click, small green mist surrounded her hair, forming it into a pony tail.
"Do they work underwater? Your powers I mean," he asked marveling at how it did your hair.
"I need to work on it," Juliet shrugged.
"Princey!" a voice shouted swimming quickly into the room causing them both to freeze instantly in their places.
A/N:
Cute, a little outfit change and a new skill learnt. A bit of family uncovered but also a new voice. Is everything going to get blown out the water before it's begun?
