Juliet woke up with a stir and a groan. She woke up to the quiet chatter and giggles between the buzzing, morning people, Klaus and Kai. Nuzzling her head into the soft coral and the blanket octopus she continued to groan, not being a morning person.Trying to carry on sleeping, she turned and snuggled in further and thought on how grateful she should be towards the mermen. After all, a soft coral bed was much better compared to a hard stone floor.
As the blanket octopus hugged her figure, Juliet hugged the soft coral that was her pillow and her fingers grazed the book Undina gave her the night previous. Her eyes jolted open only to squint again at the morning light that streamed through the large window.
She moaned to herself slowly sitting up and rubbing her eyes. Her tail fidgeted, stretching itself out before it could cramp up. It ached and felt sore from the night sleep. As she sleepily sat up, her hands drifted up and down the tail, caressing the scales and the soreness slowly faded as Juliet whispered some words under her breath.
"Look who's finally woken up!" Kai cheered giving a small clap beside a softly laughing Klaus; both sat comfortably on his bed curled up in massive blanket octopi.
"I'm nor meant for mornings," Juliet groggily replied, scratching her head, yawning widely, inhaling too much water and coughing for a few seconds, bubbles flying everywhere.
"Funny, we're the opposite," Klaus cheerfully said, swimming over to Juliet and sitting beside her.
"Can't understand why," Juliet forced a laugh through her tired state. She never realized how eventful the day was previous until she felt like she had a hangover in a swimming pool.
"We used to wake up the second the sun shone through the waves!" Kai exclaimed, playfully punching Klaus's shoulder.
"Yeah we used sneak out together so early and explore sunken ships and strange monuments we never knew existed," Klaus continued, smiling at his friend.
Juliet nodded tiredly to herself, unconsciously smiling at he thought of a mini Klaus and Kai swimming around a sunken ship.
The pair could vividly see themselves when they were little fish swimming around. They remembered how Klaus easily became scared if the bigger fish and sharks that swam over head and how Kai would always get stuck somehow in the ship's broken window. Klaus was always confused how he never hurt himself.
"That's what we need to do!" Kai shouted pointing a finger up, eyeing the other two with wide eyes and a mischievous grin.
Klaus eyed his friend in confusion as Juliet continued to rub eyes trying to properly wake up and properly adjust to the water surrounding her again.
"Let's do some exploring today like we did when we were younger! I'm sure Juliet would love to get to know the area!" Kai flailed around his scaled hands, his hair swam madly around him and his mouth held a wide smile, eyes bright.
"But the reve-"
"I don't mind seeing the area before I crack on with some tiresome work," Juliet cut of Klaus with a breathy chuckle and a sympathetic smile towards the two, eyes sparkling at the idea of seeing some of their history.
Klaus gave a small nod, swimming swiftly to his wardrobe and picking out some cloth.
"Sorted then!" Kai clapped his hands but only made a faint sound as some bubbles scattered, "We should probably eat first or take a feedbox. What do you think Klausey?" he looked over to his friend who held a pile of clothing in his arms.
"Definitely take a feedbox, we can have a pickynic," Klaus answered with an 'isn't it obvious' expression on his face as he looked at his friend who nodded in agreement.
Kai took a piece of cloth from Klaus's arms. Clothes. Klaus had obviously thought ahead and didn't want his friend and new friend to wear what they wore the day before.
"It's a bit big for you but, it should be comfy and just fine with a belt," he handed a now awake Juliet, who sat up in the shell, a lengthy piece of satin like material, it's cut reminding her of a t-shirt or hoodie.
She nodded a thank you and held it in her hands, tracing the material, how different it felt in the water, against her fingertips and against her scales and tail. It was a funny feeling. One that would take time to get used too.
Kai openly took off his top clothing, unaware of the two in the room and slipped on the same satin like material shirt over his scaled chest but cutting off at his shoulder, making it a tank top in Juliet mind. She gulped to herself.
Klaus noticed her shocked expression as he did the same. He mentally slapped himself with his fin and hit Kai's shoulder, "Lets turn around for her yeah,"
Juliet smiled to herself, a blush coming upon her cheeks as the two turned around as she slipped on the shirt. It fit her lovely and she admired how it floated slightly in the water. Clicking her fingers she summoned a pearl belt which she tied around her waist.
She coughed and the two turned back around with schoolfish smiles, Klaus scratching the back of his head and Kai plaiting a part if his own hair.
"We need to visit the Queen Daisy ship!" Kai suddenly chimed after plaiting his hair, making the other two float a bit higher in their places.
"The Queen Daisy?" Juliet breathed out to herself in disbelief, her eyes going a bit glassy for a second but disappearing as she looked back at the mermen.
"Great idea! I'll go make our feedbox and we'll swim straight there!" Klaus excitedly said before swiftly swimming away to the kitchens again.
"You'll love it Julie," Kai sat beside her, hand resting on her shoulder. She looked at him slowly with an unreadable expression, "Oh sorry I can give you a new nickname if you want?" he became panicked quickly, holding up his hands as if he was in trouble.
She lightly laughed at his cute reaction, "No no I like it, my Dad used to call me that!" Juliet smiled widely as Kai regained his steady heart rate.
Both of them laughed and joked in their place waiting for Klaus to come back with the food and snacks so they could set out on their adventure.
