'So I heard yer changed yer mind Scrub, goin' ta help Jack now.'

'Shit Spot, when's I say yer boys getta 'round fast ies didn't think that fast.'

Scrub lifted an eyebrow and leaned on his hip, giving Spot Conlon a sideways glance.

'So, Ies guessin' yer considering it too if yer all da way 'ere on da border of Bronx.'

'He's serious.' Spot said like he'd just figured out. 'He's actually strikin' against Pulitzer.' Surprise, astonishment and amusement laced in and around Spot's voice.

'Think he's gonna win?' Scrub asked while inspecting his nails.

'He might,' Spot glanced at Scrub. 'If we help 'im dat is.'

'We'd be stupid ta help 'im.' Scrub shook his head and laughed. 'But are we actually gonna give up our one chance ta beat Pulitzer?'

'We might lose.' Spot informed The Bronx leader.

'We might not.' Scrub reminded Spot with a careless shrug.

'Ah hell.' Spot sighed, he threw his head back to stare at the sky before throwing it back down to spit on the ground. 'I guess there ain't dat much too lose that I ain't lost already.'

'Dat mean yer in?'

'Yeah. Let's go.'

'Hey!' A strong voice yelled from the sky.

The Manhattan Newsies couldn't see a thing, they were getting beaten again. But something lit in their hearts as they heard the two voices laughing from above.

'Never fear!' A second voice yelled. 'Brooklyn Is here!'

'So's da Bronx!' The first voice called again. 'Hey Manhattan! The cavalry's here!'

David laughed loudly, a smile took over his very being as he watched Scrub run down to the street, the whole Bronx Newsies behind her.

Spot flew down like some kind of superhero to help Jack, David noticed, while Scrub came running towards him.

'You came!' David laughed.

'You is pretty convincing Mouth, I have to say.' Grinned back the Bronx leader.

'My names David!' David yelled as Scrub ran off to help her Newsies.

'What?!' She yelled back, laughing more freely than she'd done in years.

'I heard a rumor that the Bronx kids hit like girls.' A tall man mocked as Fly stood before him. Fly didn't know who he was, and he didn't care to, but he knew why he was there.

To stop the strike.

Fly couldn't let that happen.

Fly balled his hands into fists, completely ready for a fight but he was stopped by someone tapping the tall man on the shoulder with the words:

'Hey Bub,' The voice halted and the owner grinned when the man turned around. 'I am a goil.'

A punch to the face knocked the man out cold and onto the ground.

Fly stared ahead of himself in shock, staring straight into the green eyes of Scrub.

'Sorry kid.' Mattie apologized, a look of pure regret and hidden pride at her actions laced her face and she ran off again to aid her Newsies.

'I wasn't gonna tell 'em.' Jack informed the girl when they met in the middle of the protest.

He'd seen the whole thing and worried briefly if she only did that because she thought he and David would tell everyone anyway.
