036| SOON DARLING, SOON
"One of these days, love will tear you apart."
-Amy-"Miss, would you like a cup of tea?" The voice of one of the housekeepers asked from outside the door. I detach my lips from the cigarette, allowing the delicate swirls of smoke to paint the air. I stare at it as it stays in the air for a while before disappearing.
"Miss? Are you alright?" I ignore her, throwing my cigarette on the ground. I let out a sigh as I turn to face the other side. The news of me getting rejected was blowing up on all social media sites. I looked like an idiot. I grit my teeth as I clench my fists tightly.
I was so close to becoming extremely rich. I was so close to succeeding and getting my prize. I was so close!! "No...It's not Ren's fault...It's that Madilyn's..." I mutter, "Yes...Madilyn..."
"Yeah...It's her fault not Ren's, not yours, it's hers..."
The door clicks before it slightly opens, creaking as footsteps approach me. The room was dark, the light from the television was the only thing that lit up the room. Broken objects and shattered glassware littered the marble flooring of my bedroom.
My lips felt numb and swollen and I can feel all my emotions swirling inside my head as I let out a silent giggle, the giggles gradually turning into hysterical laughter. It's not Ren's fault..that Maddie...she stole him away from me...she..she has to go...SHE HAS TO...
I laughed. That pathetic scum Madilyn will never get him away from me. I will do anything it takes to get rid of that twat.
I heard the footsteps stop. The sofa dips down, the extra weight from the other person next to me causing it to do so. The person moves really close to me. I can smell his familiar scent of mint and musky pine.
"Hello, darling."
His eyes were illuminated by the moonlight, making him look extremely handsome. His lips were curled up in a smirk as he runs his hands through his hair. "Miss me?" He puts his arm around me and pulls my body close to his.
I lock my eyes with his, giggling. "Of course boo." I gave him a peck on his lips. He caresses my hair softly. "Is there something wrong?" He asks, his breath fanning my face. "You were giggling all to yourself when I got here."
"Oh, it's about that rat Madilyn." I mutter, spitefully. He chuckles, his chest sending vibrations as he does so. "I was able to get a bit of info off her my dear." He says smugly. I smirk, lacing my fingers with the hands of the man behind me.
"What kind of information?"
"Personal information." He states simply. I turn to face him, our faces inches away. He smirks. His hair was slicked to the side in a fancy manner. His eyebrows were raised in a challenging manner. He moves his face closer.
"Why? Curious about it?"
I nod my head as I turn to the television. The video of the wedding was playing on the screen. He glances at it before shutting it close. He moves closer to me and hands me a picture.
It was a picture of Madilyn and Ren when they were in high school. The two were smiling happily and seemed to be laughing about something. I face my lover, raising an eyebrow. "What's this for?"
He takes the photo from me and rips it in half, tearing Madilyn away from Ren. He moves closer to me, his eyes sparkling with mischief. He grabs my chin and tilts it up, forcing me to look at him.
"Don't worry darling, we will get our revenge soon enough. You will become rich and I will get what belongs to me."
