This book is coming out of hiatus
The sun peeked past my blinds, awakening me from my deep slumber.
Something was laying on top of me, startling me greatly, causing me to open my eyes. Usually, nobody would be even near me in the morning let alone sleeping peacefully on top of me.
My arm was wrapped around their waist tightly, keeping them in place. I opened my eyes lazily to see Mika snuggled up on top of me. His arms were tucked under his stomach while his legs were on top of mine.
Small puffs of air left his mouth as he continued to sleep soundly on top of me. He looked extra adorable with his cheek smushed against my chest, giving off a more childish look.
Yeah, he may be sixteen but sixteen-year-olds can still be cute right?
I think yes!
Slowly I made my way towards his hair, running my fingers through the curly locks. He huffed then snuggled closer to me, attempting to get as much warmth as possible.
What pissed me off was the fact that I was supposed to be getting ready for training right at this moment. What I really hate is that we train super earlier to late at night.
I guess it would be good since we don't want our entire army wiped out by the vampire army while trying to rescue my friend. Personally, I could care less if half the army dies if it means I get to have my best friend back but that's not how it works these days I guess.
"Ugh, I'll cuddle later and go to training." I angrily muttered to myself. Slowly but steadily I lifted Mika off of me and back onto the bed.
'Maybe when Mika is really here then we have cuddle party's.'
'What the hell am I thinking! Mika is my best friend.'
As soon as I laid him down onto the bed again he cuddled straight into the sheets and stuffed his face into the pillow. I shook my head then grabbed my crap, changed, and left to go to training.
He'll probably go back to hiding when he gets back anyway so it wouldn't really matter.
.......
The training wasn't too horrible today, especially since I was so focused. I wanted no needed to be prepared for tomorrow.
I was finally gonna get revenge for the family I once had and get revenge for the family I currently have. Mikaela may have not wanted me to get revenge for him or the others but it just doesn't feel right letting it go like that.
Nobody paid me any mind as I walked back towards the dormitory. Everybody was making great preparations for tomorrow considering it will be our most important mission.
The vampires will finally be brought down and humans will not have to live in fear anymore. Children being held in the capital will not have to live under the vampire's rule anymore and will be free to see the outside world again.
I quickly arrived at the dormitory and headed inside my room. It wasn't too late in the day but we were going to be up early tomorrow in preparation for storming the vampire capital.
I groaned in annoyance, realizing that I haven't eaten anything yet, meaning that I would have to cook.
Making my way towards the kitchen I realized that I still had some instant noodles left that they gave us for the month. Every month they give us some food for our dorm rooms in case that we end too late for training and the dining hall is closed.
I opened the cupboard grabbed a noodle cup filled it with water then placed it in the microwave. I could cook it on the stove but the training aftermath was finally starting to catch up with me.
I added the seasoning and sat down at the table then a thought hit me. Where was Mikaela? I didn't see him outside so he must have stayed inside all day or he went back inside the sword but I highly doubt it.
I finished my food quickly and went inside my bedroom. At least the sun was beginning to set so it wasn't too early for bed.
I gently lifted the covers not too surprised to once again see Mikaela curled up in a small ball. My bed was quite messy so it was hard to see him under the covers of all the blankets.
Shimmying under the covers was quite difficult considering I didn't want to wake the sleeping Mikaela underneath. As soon as I was under the covers he shimmied just a little bit closer to absorb the heat I was giving off.
I closed my eyes over and over yet I couldn't all into the sleepy abyss that I so desperately wanted. There was too much on my mind.
Letting my limbs do what they wanted I dragged Mikaela to lay on top of me. His arms were tucked tightly under him as he snuggled deep into my chest in an attempt to steal my warmth.
It was interesting to know that he could still be cold despite him being a demon.
Gently I laid my arms down on his back then began messaging the tense muscles. Mikaela just sighed and snuggled even closer than he was before.
I closed my eyes and focused on evening my breathing like the one sleeping on top of me. It worked at I could feel myself starting to drift off into a deep sleep with a not-so-pleasant dream.
...............
"Why won't you let me go?" Someone whispered to me. I glanced around myself only to see a clear floor and the bright blue skies with a few clouds here and there.
"Move on with your life and forget about me." I turned around to see Mikaela standing a good distance away from me.
"Please." He gave me a gentle smile with tears running down his cheeks.
"Don't go on the mission tomorrow if you truly care about setting me free." He stated.
"Give me a reason not to." I crossed my arms with a completely serious look on my face. If he didn't want me to go then he would have to give me a solid reason to which I'll think about it.
"It's dangerous you imbecile! The mission could go horribly wrong!" He looked away as he yelled at me. Mikaela only looked away when he was lying. A strange habit I noticed when we were children and how I found out he was giving blood to that bastard.
"Don't lie." He violently flinched then quickly masked it to look stoic.
"I'm not." He stated, staring me down in the eyes yet his response still didn't seem genuine to me. Then it hit me.
"You know something, don't you?" I questioned as his gaze hardened.
Mikaela sighed, breaking his composure for a minute. "Some things are better left unspoken. You don't understand whats in the capital and you never will because I'll try to prevent you from seeing it if its the last thing I do." He promised.
"Then please try to help me understand. I want to put your mind at ease as well as mine."
"You aren't ready for it." He whispered as he hugged himself.
"No! Maybe you just aren't ready for it! I'm ready whether you refuse to accept it or not and you won't be able to stop me." I challenged.
"If that's what you think then so be it." He stated coldly as the dark wall of smoke came between us.
