Hector watches as Maria talks with her parents. He smiles happily as she looks slightly alive in her dead state.
"Dont tell me it's that Hector." Her father asks making him cringe slightly. He steps forward and greets them.
"Yes, its me." He says. Maria's mother happily hugs him while her father glares at him.
"Why would you choose a man who left his family to pursue music?" He turns angrily to his daughter.
"But papa, its not like that. Ernesto murdered him when he was trying to go home. And if he didn't, I never would've met and fallen in love with him." Maria counters making Hector blush slightly.
"I love your daughter. With all my heart. I made a mistake leaving my family, but its all in the past now. From now on, my only intention is to make your daughter happy. Like she makes me." He brushes his fingers on her cheek. Maria blushes and holds his hand as it rests on her face.
"Please accept us? I don't know how I'd deal with losing my parents a second time."
Her parents look between each other, her mother smiling slightly as she looks at her husband.
"Fine. I'll accept it, I also dont want to lose my daughter again." Her father says. Maria jumps with joy and wraps her arms around Hector's neck. The four then start to walk back to the Rivera home, Maria and Hector's fingers intertwined. When they get back, Maria and Hector go to meet up with the twins, Oscar and Philipe as they eat some of their offerings.
"So, how did it go with mother and father?" Oscar asks as he wiggles his nonexistent eyebrows.
"It went great, they accept me as their daughters boyfriend." Hector smiles. "If that's what you want to label me as." He blushes.
"Yeah, boyfriend." Maria let's the word roll of her tongue happily. They turn their attention to the yard where music starts to break out. They rush to it as Miguel starts singing his usual song he plays at Dia De Los Muertos.
They sing and dance along, Hector once again taking a matching guitar from Miguel to add to his collection as he plays along. Maria dances with her mother and father, singing along with Miguel. When the sun starts to rise, the dead family gather their offerings and start to return to the land of the dead. Maria takes one last longing look at Miguel and his family, smiling as she remembers her life with them.
"Do you miss them?" Hector asks.
"Of course, they raised me when I was orphaned. But I'm happy that I'm with you and everyone else. I am." She hugs him before taking her basket from his hand and follows the rest of the dead to the bridge.
Once back at the mansion, everyone goes to their respective rooms or the kitchen to put the food away as Hector and Maria go to Hector's room.
"Hector?" Maria calls almost inaudibly.
"Yes?" He turns to her.
"I know you got that room ready just for me, but could I possibly share this room with you?" She looks down with a blush.
Hector looks shocked at her question before pulling her to him.
"You can stay in any room you want. We can move your parents into your old room so they are closer if you want." He suggests.
She nods as she gets her stuff to put in her new room. When all her stuff is moved, she lays on the bed as her parents move into her old room. Hector walks in and leans over her as she lays down.
"Are you happy now, mí amor?" He asks kissing her cheek then forehead.
"Very." She wraps her arms around his neck as he rests his elbows on either side of her head.
"I'm glad." He says quietly as he leans down to finally press his lips to hers.
