Song: Milk And Cookies by Melanie Martinez

"What would you like, love?" Axel says, gesturing towards all the flavors of ice cream.

"Uh," I take a long moment to survey all the varieties of flavors. "Can I get the strawberry one?" I ask, looking up at Axel.

"Anything you want, love." He smiles down at me.

I've convinced Axel to take me to the local carnival since he doesn't want me going out without him or Lee there. He was hesitant at first but taking Faye's advise, I gave him my best puppy dog eyes and he was like putty in my hands.

Squealing when I see a ring toss game, I excitedly drag Axel over. There are a bunch of huge teddy bears hung up as prizes.

"Would you like to play, ma'am?" Asks the man running the game. I nod my head enthusiastically and he hands me a couple of rings. I throw one of the rings and misses by a whole foot. Pouting, I throw the rings at the bottles, all of them missing. When I get to my last ring I look up at Axel with a pout.

"Do you want me to try this time?" He asks. I smile and hand him a ring. He tosses it and it lands around the bottle on his first try. I clap my hands together excitedly and wrap my arms around Axel's waist.

"You can pick out a prize now ma'am." The ma'am. I gaze at all the plushies, trying to make a decision. My eyes land on the huge white wolf and I'm in love.

"I want that one!" I call out, pointing at it. Axel reaches up and takes it down for me.

"Here you go, love." He says, handing it to me. I clutch it in my arms as we make our way over to the Ferris wheel. When it's our turn Axel helps me onto the ride and gets in next to me. Scared of heights, I clutch onto Axel as our cabin begins to rock with the movements of the Ferris wheel. My stomach drops when we are well above the ground, looking down at the carnival.

"Relax, love. I'm not going to let anything happen to you." Axel says, rubbing my back. That does help a bit but by the time we go around a second time my heart is pounding in my chest again. I jump when the cabin rocks again.

"Hmm, maybe I'll get you to calm down some other way," Axel suggests. He tilts my head up and his lips crash down on mine. My body responds immediately, sinking into his touch and running my hands up his arms. He kisses me softly, lips moving slowly over mine. Soon, the ride stops and my heart is pounding for a different reason.

Axel guides me off of the ride and we linger around the carnival for a few more minutes before it gets late and we have to leave. Once we get home Axel guides me upstairs to our bedroom. Everyone is asleep and the pack house is dark and quiet.

After taking a shower and changing into some sleep shorts and one of Axel's tee's, I hop into bed with him. He pulls me into his arms and I sink into his touch. As usual, Axel falls asleep first and I stay up, restless. I have always suffered from insomnia, even when I was a little girl. Usually, Axel's presence helps but today I just can't drift off to sleep. I toss and turn before getting out of bed and going downstairs for a cup of water.

"Maebry!" I jump at the sudden sound and the glass slips to the floor, shattering.

"Shit! I'm sorry! Didn't mean to scare you." Colden says, apologetically

"Oh, it's no big deal! We seem to keep running into each other this way." I joke, getting a broom to clean up the mess.

"Here, let me help you with that." He says getting the dustpan. We quietly clean up the broken glass.

"Thank you," I tell him, about to head back upstairs.

"Hey, I was just going to check the Moonflowers in the garden. You can come too if you like," He offers.

"I don't know, it's getting late," I say skeptically.

"They only bloom in the night time and it's a beautiful sight. Come on, it won't take long, Mae." He pleads.

"Okay, but only for a second." I give in, following him to the garden. It's dark out but lights illuminate the garden, giving it an almost heavenly look. Colden walks over to the moonflowers and I stare in amazement. The white flowers make the garden even more beautiful than it was yesterday.

"Wow, Colden. These look so beautiful." I tell him.

"Just like you. It's a shame, you know," He tells me with almost a regretful look on his face.

"What's a shame?" I ask in confusion.

"That I have to do this." Before I can respond he pulls me back into his chest and shoves a cloth over my nose. I scream and struggle to get loose, thrashing around. As I breathe in the chemicals on the clothe my struggles get weaker and I start to lose consciousness.

"Sorry it had to come to this." I hear him say before the world goes black.

I wake up in an uncomfortable position on a concrete floor with my eyes blindfolded. The smell of mildew and urine makes me gag as I regain consciousness. At first, I'm confused then I remember the events of yesterday. I try to get up and run but I fall down and discover that my leg is chained to something. I desperately pull at the chain with no success.

"She's finally awake!" A voice calls from somewhere in the room. I recognize it as Colden.

"Let me go, Colden! You know Axel will never let you get away with this."

"Axel will be taken care of soon and you're going to help me do it," Colden says. Sharp fear runs through me at anything happening to Axel.

"You'll have to kill before I help you hurt my mate!" I snarl.

"So be it then," Colden's footsteps retreat from the room. When he's gone I rip the blindfold off and look around the room. It looks to be a basement. It has concrete floors and water dripping from the ceiling and a staircase that leads up to a door. The chain around my leg is connected the wall on the furthest side of the room. I pull at it and realize that there is no way that thing is coming out.

After hours of looking for ways to escape I lose hope and lie on the cold damp floor. There is no way I can go to sleep in these conditions and even if I did my dreams would be filled images of my worried mate looking for me. When the sound of a door opening and footsteps fill the room I don't even bother to look up.

"Get up!" The sharp pain of a boot to my ribs jolts me up. Though the voice is familiar it's not Colden's. I look up to see a familiar towering frame glowering at me.

"Sebastion!" I gasp, terrified.

"We don't have time for reintroductions! We need to leave." He snarls. Panic feels me and I desperately try to buy myself time.

"I-I thought you were exiled. What are you doing here?"

"Axel may have gotten the upper hand by exiling me but he failed to realize I have valuable information about his pack. Information that Alpha Ashton would find useful. So it's no surprise that he welcomed me to join his pack with open arms."

"What does that have to do with me? Why did you guys kidnap me? I know about as much about the pack as everyone else."

"It's not about what you know about Axel. I'm sure Axel would willingly surrender to Ashton's pack if something he cared about was in danger." I gasp at this revelation. Axel would be forced to let Ashton take over the pack. I know he would do anything to protect me.

"Now, I'm going to unchain you but first I'm going to blindfold you. If you try running away your face will be unrecognizable if Axel ever gets to see it again." Sebastion ties the blindfold around my eyes and I cringe at his touch. He undoes the chain around my ankle and drags me up a flight of stairs. I stumble while trying to keep up with his fast pace. I recognize the sound of a door being unlocked, then I can feel the cold bite of air against my skin.

"How close are they?" Colden's voice asks.

"About twelve miles east and fast approaching. I'll take the girl to another location and you can stay here until Axel Arrives." Sebastion says. My heart jumps with joy at the thought of Axel rescuing me. That happiness fades when Sebastion shoves me into the back of a car.

"Don't get too excited. Axel may be close but we still have the upper hand." Sebastion says when he starts up the car. I don't know where he plans on taking me but I know that Axel will find me.

A/N: I decided to add the next chapter to this one instead of making it a two-parter. Updates are going to be a little random for a while but bear with me, please. Enjoy the early update ;)
