A/N: It's been exactly two months since I have updated this story. I've been really busy lately but I still plan on finishing this no matter what. I should be back to posting regularly sometime this month.

Axel POV

When I wake up I reach out to my mate only to encounter cold sheets. My heart sinks, being used to rising to the feeling of Maebry's warm body pressed against mine. Thinking she went downstairs for breakfast early I quickly brush my teeth and throw on some clothes and go looking for her. The pack members fill the kitchen with chatter but there is no sign of Maebry.
"Have you seen Maebry today?" I ask, approaching Faye and Elliot.

"Not since we went out the other day," Faye responds.

"I woke up and she was gone. It's not like her to wander off like that," I say, starting to get panicked.

"I'm sure she's fine. We'll search the house for her and you can look outside." Elliot says. They go upstairs to look for her and I head outside.

Heading towards the forest lining I try to calm myself. I try looking for her in the clearing I took her to but she's not there. I get more panicked as minutes pass and there's no trace of her or her sent. Just as I'm about to mindlink Lee I catch her sent near the garden. Relieved, I rush toward it but she's not there. I look around and see a cloth lying on the ground. Curious, I pick it up and fear fills me when I smell the chemical on it.

Get down here now! The Luna is in danger! I mindlink Lee.

I'm on my way, he answers immediately. I pace the garden and catch the scent of another male pack member. The smell is slightly familiar but I don't know who it belongs to.

"What's wrong?" Lee asks when he arrives in the garden, followed by five pack warriors.

"Maebry's gone Missing. I found her scent here. I also found this," I hand the cloth to Lee and his face get's dark when he smells it.

"Chloroform," He sneers.

"I also found the scent of another pack member but I can't tell who it is," I lead Lee and the pack warriors over to the scent trail.

"It's not a rogue. It's one of our own," Lee says with anger.

"Hey, I know that smell. It's Colden," One of the pack warriors say.

"We need to find him Immediately," I growl, running towards the pack house. Lee and the warriors follow and all I can think about is someone hurting my Maebry. The pack members stare as I run up the stairs and barge into Colden's room. Anger fills me as I stare into the empty room. He must have taken Maebry and left.

"He's long gone. He knows better than to stay around after harming the Alpha's mate," Lee says when he and the warriors arrive.

"Go check the territory for any traces of him and Maebry. Lee, stay here with me," I order. The warriors leave to search for Colden and Lee and I are alone.

"I don't understand what his motive would be to take Maebry. Unless..." Lee trails off, horrified.

"He's a trader," I growl. "This is Ashton's doing. No one else is stupid enough to cross me, let alone hurt my mate." Rage fills me at the thought of them taking my mate but also fear for my mate's safety.

"We'll send our warriors over to his pack to retrieve the Luna," Lee says. I know there is no avoiding a war. Ashton and his pack will pay for ever laying hand on Maebry.

Maebry's POV

When Sebastian arrives at the new location he drags me out of the car, still with the blindfold on. I Flinch when I hear a door slam behind me.

"I'm going to chain you then unblindfold you. You already know what will happen if you disobey me," Scared, I stay stock-still as he chains my arms together and unblindfolds me. It takes a few seconds for my eyes to adjust to the light but when they do I can see that I'm in what looks to be an abandoned house. There are two other men, werewolves I assume, guarding the door.

"Everything that happens now depends on Axel. If he makes the right decision and agrees to give his pack over to Ashton you'll be able to live. If he doesn't...well, we both know what will happen then," Sebastion says. My heart drops at the possibility. There is no good way to end this. If Axel agrees to hand over his pack I'll live but Ashton will probably imprison us. If he doesn't give over the pact I'll die.

The next few hours pass in a blur of fear. Sebastion paces, probably mind linking Ashton's pack. I nervously await my fate, hoping that Axel spares his pack the cruelty of Ashton and lets me go. I have no doubt that if Axel surrenders his pack most of the members will be imprisoned or killed. My heart aches at the thought of harm coming to Faye or Elliot. I can't even imagine what Ashton would do to Axel. When we met I could feel the rage he had for him. If he took control of his pack Axel would probably die a painful death at the hand of Ashton. My heart breaks at even the thought of Axel dying at the hands if Ashton.

My attention is averted from the terrifying thoughts of my fate by Sebastion and the two other wolves talking in hushed whispers. I can't tell what they are saying but I can see that Sebastion looks angry and maybe even a little scared. He sends a hard glance my way before heading over here.

"Don't do this, Sebastion. I know that he exiled you but it was only for fair reasons. This was your pack. The people that you grew up with and you're just going to have them killed like this. Just take me back to Axel and end this now." I try to sound brave but inside I'm terrified of what might come.

"I don't need your pathetic pleas. Axel sealed the fate of his pack the day he exiled me." Sebastion sneers.

"He'll make you regret this," I spit out in anger.

"Well, as it turns out, your dear Axel made the wrong decision," Sebastion says with a sick smile. My face pales as fear takes over every cell in my body. "He must not have loved you that much if he wasn't willing to give up his pack for you."

My heart breaks and I hope to god that Axel, Elliot, and Faye escape Ashton's cruelty. As Sebastion takes a few more steps toward me I close my eyes and think of all the good moments I had with the people I love. When he wraps his hands around my throat I try to retreat into my mind so my final moments won't be filled with fear. The last thing I think of is Axel. His gorgeous, scarred face and beautiful smile. I think of his lips against mine and his laughter. I just hope he's able to go on without me.

Axel's POV

The sounds of paws hitting the ground and heavy breathing fills the surrounding forest as we make our way over to Ashton's pack. I fasten my pace, thinking of them hurting my mate. I have to get to her as fast as possible.

When I start to see Ashton's pack house through the trees, I mindlink the warriors to stay under the cover of the trees until I say otherwise. Lee and I change out of our wolf form and quickly put on clothes. As we rush over to the pack house I see Colden and Ashton out front. I catch one of Maebry's scent trails and know she's been here. It takes everything in me not to kill them both on-site but I keep reminding myself that I have to find Maebry first.

"Tell me where Maebry is and I might have mercy and let your deaths be swift and painless," I sneer, trying to contain myself.

"Don't forget we have the girl. You make any threatening move and I'll have her killed," Lee has to hold me back from killing both of them at those words.

"Quit the bluff, Ashton. We both know that you stand no chance against our pack. If you hurt Maebry you and your pack are as good as dead," Lee informs him.

"Surrender your pack and no harm will come to her. If you don't you'll never see your precious mate again. I might even let my pack have some fun with her before killing her." This time Lee isn't able to hold me back when I lunge toward him. My fist connects with his with a painful thud before Lee pulls me back.

"This is your last chance, Brother. Give up your pack or the girl dies," Ashton snarls.

"You'll never have my pack and you'll never harm my mate," I snarl. I mindlink the pack warriors to approach.

"Verry well then. You can say goodbye to your mate." As soon as the words leaves his mouth Lee and I change into our wolves and the pack warriors charge. Knowing I have no more time to waste I follow Maebry's scent trail. I run faster than I ever have in my life, sensing that my mate is in danger. The trail leads me to an abanded house in the woods. Without thinking I burst through the doors. The sight of Maebry lying limp on the ground with Sebastions hands around her throat send fire through veins. I lunge at Sebastion and sink my teeth into his throat and he goes limp immediately. Before I can get to Maebry I'm attacked by two other wolves. I take each of them down easily. They don't stand a chance against an Alpha.

Afterward, I change from my wolf form and take Maebry's limp frame into my arms. I'm filled with relief when I hear her heart beating. It feels good to have her in my arms but I need to get her medical attention immediately. I lift her up and try to get to the pack house as fast as possible. The whole way there I worry about my mate. I don't know what I would do without her. Maebry is my whole heart and without my life would be filled with darkness.
