PETER'S P.O.V.
Finally, it was the prom night. I dressed up and looked at myself in the mirror. I was wearing a black tuxedo with shoes of the same colour. I went downstairs, picked up my car keys and drove to Kat's house to pick her up.
I reached her place and knocked at the door. Mrs. Forbes opened it.
"Peter! Come in." she said, smiling.
"Thanks."
"She'll be down in a minute." she said, gesturing towards Kat's room. "Why don't you take a seat until then?"
"Yeah, sure." I said, sitting down on the couch.
"I'm sorry, the oven is on. I need to get in the kitchen before it burns down." she said.
I chuckled. "Oh, it's fine. Go on."
With that, Mrs. Forbes left the living room. A few minutes later, Kat walked down the stairs. I couldn't help but smile.
She looked stunning. She was wearing a red dress which fitted perfectly up to her waist and then loosened into folds below it, up to her knees. Her hair was down, slightly curled. She looked like she had descended straight from heaven.
"Wow. You look beautiful." I said, pulling her closer to me.
"You don't look so bad yourself." she smiled. "You should wear tuxes more often."
"As you say, Princess."
I kissed her.
KATHERINE'S P.O.V.
We got into Peter's car and drove up to the venue. As I stepped out of the car, I saw Jules and Kent kissing in the parking lot.
"When did that happen?" Peter mocked.
I giggled. "Maybe you should enquire for yourself."
Peter and I walked up to them.
"Ahem." Peter slipped into a chuckle.
As soon as they heard him, they broke off their kiss.
"Hey guys." Kent said.
Jules started to blush.
"So now it's the two of you, huh?" Peter asked.
"Kent asked me to be his girlfriend!" Jules jumped.
"Yeah, we kinda made it official." Kent said, scratching the back of his neck.
Jules smiled at him and he gave her a little peck on the lips.
"Ugh. Get a room, you two." Peter smirked.
"Shut up, Peter." Jules giggled.
"Jokes apart, I'm really happy for the two of you." he said.
"Thanks."
"Yeah, me too. I've been waiting for this for so long. I knew both of you liked each other but weren't going to admit it that easily." I added.
"Well, it's a good thing that we finally did. Isn't it?" Kent said, looking at Jules.
"Yes. Yes, it is."
"Hey, don't you guys wanna go inside?" Peter asked.
"Yeah, but where is Kevin? I don't see him anywhere." I said.
"He's probably already in there checking out his chances with the girls." Kent smirked.
We all laughed.
"Yeah, probably." Peter agreed. "Let's go."
We went inside. The room was decorated beautifully. Stunning chandeliers were hanging down from the ceiling at each nook. It was very well lit. The music was pleasing. It was heavenly. Love was in the air.
"Let's dance!" Jules exclaimed.
"Yay!" I jumped.
The four of us got up on the dance floor. Peter put his hands on my waist and I wrapped mine around his neck. We started moving to the slow rhythm. As I looked into his eyes, the whole world seemed to fade away. Nothing else made sense in that moment.
PETER'S P.O.V.
We were dancing. Looking at Kat, I realised how lucky I was to have her by my side.
"Katherine."
"Yeah?"
"I need to tell you something."
"Yeah? What's up?"
"I need to tell you that..."
"That?"
"I love you, Katherine Forbes."
Hearing this, she took a step back. away from me. Her expression was a mixture of both, surprise and shock.
"What did you just say?" She frowned.
Oh god! I knew I shouldn't have confessed yet. I should've known that it was too soon. Maybe I made a mistake. As I debated with my own self, I saw the frown on Kat's face turn upside down. She smiled widely and blushed hard.
"Oh my god, Peter!"
She then jumped on to me and kissed me passionately.
"I love you too, Peter Anderson. You are the best thing that happened to me. You have no idea..."
"Shh." I said, deepening the kiss.
This was the best feeling ever. We both were so happy. I was still having a hard time believing that I was with someone so beautiful, smart and caring. Katherine made me happier than I had ever been.
KATHERINE'S P.O.V.
This was the best day of my life. Being with Peter was the best. Every time I looked at him, I thought 'What did I ever do to deserve him?' I still remember the first day we met. We were so different. I could've probably killed him back then. We've grown so much together. I don't think I could love anyone that much.
