"Never felt like this before, are we friends or are we more? As I'm walking towards the door I'm not sure." -Change My Mind (One Direction)

Luke nervously shifted his bag from one shoulder to the other, fiddling with his lip ring as he walked to Ashtons' loft.

He was nervous and anxious and excited for what was to come but didn't know what to expect from the few days that he'd be staying with the flower child.

"I mean, I'm sure nothing will happen, and if something does it'll just be our hands accidentally brushing. No big deal, Luke, you'll be fine. This is just two bros hanging out. Bros for life. Me and Ashton. Ashton and me. Ashton. The ridiculously cute writer with big hands that could probably-no. No Luke, bad Luke. None of those thoughts about cute dimples and sparking eyes and..." Luke mutters under his breath, only stopping when he trips on uneven ground and almost bites his tongue off. Smooth.

Luke reaches the bakery and opens the door, the bells on it twinkling softly, and is greeted by the aroma of cinnamon and sugar. Luke smiles to himself and tugs his beanie down self-consciously, walking up towards the counter and looking towards the back for a familiar mop of unruly hair.
He rings the little bell on the counter because he doesn't really know what else to do.

"Un attimo di pazienza! One moment!" Someone (Luke's assuming it's Maria because, well, Ashton doens't sound like a sixty-something year old woman) calls from the back.

What. What language is that. What. I took three years of Spanish and barely even know how to say "pass me that fork". How am I supposed to know what that means. What.

Luke rocks back and fourth nervously on his heels as his mind question what language that is and what. Like, how is he supposed to know what she's saying? Or is that the point? Is she talking like this to-

Luke stops his silent nervous-rambling when he feels the bottom of his cotton t-shirt being tugged on. He looks down to see a little girl. She's wearing a pink tutu with purple fairy wings and a crown atop her head. Luke thinks she's the second cutest thing he's ever seen (Ashton being the first, obviously). Luke smiles and waves awkwardly at the fairy and she smiles widely at Luke before pointing at his tattoos.

"What are those?" Her voice is quiet and adorable and goes well with the white-blonde ringlets falling around her face. Luke bends down a bit because like, her face would be directly in frount of his crotch and that's awkward especially for an innocent little girl. Luke would be a top-notch pedophile if he didn't bend down to be the same height as her.

"These are my tattoos." He says and she marvels at them in wonder, poking them. He continues, "They're like drawings. Do you draw sometimes?" She nods happily and giggles. "I'm Luke, what's your name?"

"I'm Lily and I'm six." Lily says proudly, smiling as bright as the sun.

"Well, it was very nice to meet you Princess Lily. I'm Luke."

The child blushes and giggles, covering her face with her hands. She has pretty Hazel eyes and blonde hair that reminds Luke of himself and Ashton.

"Our names both start with the same letter! That's so cool!" The child gushes, gripping onto the front of Lukes' shirt with little fists and excited eyes.

The twinkling tune of the bells hanging from the door brings Lukes' gaze from the child to a frantic looking woman. Her brown eyes were similar to Calums' colour. Luke recognized the blonde locks of hair framing her face and shape of her lips from the tiny girl in front of him.

"Lily!" The child turns at her name and skips over to the woman who scoops up the tiny child and peppers her face in kisses. "Oh my baby girl I though I'd lost you forever!" She looks at Lily sternly, "Don't ever do that again, you hear me missy?" Lily nods obediently and giggles before burying her face in her mother's neck.
