Love is a Battle Part 2

Taeyeon stirred in her sleep and very slowly, she gets off the bed, not wanting to wake up the sleeping latter beside her. Her throat felt dry and her eyes were swollen, thanks to all the crying and screaming last night. This is reality. She snickered bitterly to herself. She then took one final look at Tiffany who was sleeping soundly on the bed. Be happy, Fany. She quickly turned around and leave the room, not wanting to cry anymore. Or perhaps, she just have no more tears to shed. She just felt empty and broken.

She decided to have a quick shower and just head out, going for a long drive alone. Or perhaps she could just go home, away from all this harsh cold reality.

************

Tiffany woke up and squinted her eyes, adjusting to the brightness of the room.

She quickly turned around when she remembered something. Her heart dropped when she saw the empty space beside her. She's gone. She felt sadness surging up her body but she couldn't cry anymore. She have no more tears left. She took Taeyeon's pillow and hugged it instead, sniffing the leftover fragrance of Taeyeon's hair. "Taetae..." She mumbled sadly. She clutched the pillow tightly. "Taetae..." She kept calling for Taeyeon's name, hoping that Taeyeon would walk through that door with breakfast in her hands. "Taetae..." Her tears finally managed to fall. "Taetae..." She closed her eyes, weeping quietly against Taeyeon's pillow, all the while wishing she could just die.

************

Taeyeon closed the door behind her and lazily threw her car keys onto the coffee table.

"Umma, I'm home." She said as she restlessly plopped her body onto the couch.

"Taetae?" Her mum's head peeked out of the kitchen. She wipes her hands dry and walked towards the living room, wanting to make sure that she was not hallucinating.

"Taetae?" She called again when she saw a small petite figure she was familiar with, lying face down on the couch.

"Hmmm." Taeyeon answered.

She sighed and took a seat, next to Taeyeon's head, patting it gently. She was happy to see her daughter again but yet she knew her daughter was having a hard time. Afterall, she had read the news and she knew whenever Taeyeon came home looking all dejected and sad, it have something to do with Tiffany.

"What's wrong?" She gently stroke her daughter's hair.

Taeyeon didn't reply. She just lay still, too tired too think, too drained to speak, too hurt to feel.

"What's wrong, Taetae?" Her mum asked again. This time she shook Taeyeon's shoulder, wanting to turn her around.

Taeyeon didn't move. Instead, she lifted her head and buried her face onto her mum's lap.

"It's ok, Taetae. It's ok." Her mum continued stroking her head. "Everything happens for a reason ok?" She continued coaxing her daughter. She didn't what she had guessed was true but her daughter was crying and she just wanted to be there for her.

Her mum's words broke her. Taeyeon's body shook lightly as she cries. She don't know if her mum understood her pain but today was just one of those days whereby she just wants to climb onto her mum's lap and cry until the hurt goes away.
