He was awake, tired but awake. Daedalus stared into the fire, eyes contempt on staying open.

The hungry fire rose and fell just like his kingdom. Trying to come up with reasons to not crush that egg like an ant, to live. Thousands of emotions were reflected off his sweating face. A single tear slithered down like a snake off his cheek.

Why did I even think to do this! He thought, while his hand clenched the wooden bed getting tighter by every thought. Sleeping was now off the table for Daedalus, it was to hard for me to handle the nightmares.

Behind the flames Juniper sat crosslegged, her ears flinched when he sighed.

"How are you feeling?" She asked.

"Oh jolly good, just had the best nightmare of my damn life, how are you doing?" He just couldn't resist the temptation to be sarcastic.

"Well you better get used to it, make peace with your past. And i'm alright thanks for asking Daedalus." Juniper said, "you need to lie back down and get another good few hours, we're going to hunt a Wizard!" Joy sprung out of her like someone proposed.

"Ugh, could you get some more wood then I'm getting chilly."

"Deal with it.

"Asshole!"

"Dimwit." She muttered back, obviously enjoying the conversation.

"Do you want me to heal?"

"I honestly couldn't give two shi—." She stopped when Daedalus got up, "hey! I'm joking sit down and I'll fetch some more."

"So you do care!"

"I'm not a monster, also if I wasn't here you'd be dead by now."

He yawned and covered his dry mouth, which was bruised a disgusting purple. "That'd be great." Daedalus said.

"Yeah you keep saying that, shut up and stay," she carefully let his wings rest and wiped blood off of it.

"Yes Mum!"

Juniper rolled her eyes and swiftly left. All he could hear were the trees whispering, the wind howl and the fire crackle as it slowly died down.

But sleeping was without a doubt hell for him, nothing came close to worse to it other than the real catastrophe.

It was like chains were wrapped around his legs.

He couldn't move. Daedalus could've been carrying the world on his shoulders.

The world began to fade.

Birds stopped chirping even though they should've been sleeping.

Someone was scrying him again.

"D-Daedalus, you must listen to me!" The same woman's voice from before echoed inside his head. Just before he was pulled into the sky when he had heard her, what did she want now?

"Please that egg needs to be taken care of, if the King gets his hands on it he will take all control of the land. Remember my voice we will meet face to face soon, it's bound to happen." The woman said and he was thrusted back into the real world. Her voice was vaguely familiar and it reminded him of someone.

Daedalus needed to find that Wizard.

Help get to the rendezvous point and get the dragon egg far from the humans.

It's all the hope he had left. To capture a damn Wizard.

Both of them had plenty of time to ponder about how to find the old man, a day went past and they finally came to a conclusion.

"Alright you know the drill, this Wizard wants me gone and I think he'll negotiate." Daedalus told Juniper.

They stood right next to the dead smoldered campfire, still giving off a tad bit of heat.

"But how are we going to find him?" She said.

"Easy, make him angry. You have an axe right?" Juniper Nodded, "good lets chop some trees!"

"One thing, I'll do the cutting and you will sit." She took the axe from her back, she had two small handheld axe like hatchets.

Daedalus sighed and shook his head in disbelief, "it's about time I do something around here, besides it's not like I'm going to tear anything."

Juniper howled with laughter, Daedalus was to fazed to think why.

His brow curved downwards, as she moved towards him and placed her hands on his firm shoulders. "If this hurts, sit your ass back down and as I've said so many times; rest." Her left eyebrow moved upwards and she directed him to the bed.

"Yeah no."

"What?"

He forced her hands off of him, it's like someone set him on fire. Almost visible to the Cats purple eyes.

"I'm done sitting around! Whenever I do I remember everything....T-he pain I went through, but living with the cost is what they would've wanted. If I die, I'll die willingly...but never by the Kings men." A tear left his oceanic limy eyes.

"I've really missed a lot haven't I?"

"Let me go.... I don't want you to die because of me." Daedalus' heart skipped a few beats as he remembered his past.

His kingdom may have not been the best out of the five kingdoms, they used slavery while none of the others did. Humans may have, but he didn't know for sure.

Raeryn, was full of life and the desire to strive for greater, was what they believed in.

But the kingdom Raeryn is no more, nothing but ashes and dust.

He was alone.

As he started to walk away, he was stopped by Junipers call.

"I'm not staying here," she said; and Daedalus sighed with frustration. "Hell were much more a like than you realise, my home... let's just say they forced me to be something I don't want to be. I ran... fled from my mother not thinking of the pain I've inflicted on her, now if I have a chance to doing good. I'm taking it and I'm keeping it."

"Don't slow me down then." Daedalus said, she laughed and he felt like he was teleported somewhere like heaven. It made him smile to hear her happily follow him.

"You'll be the one slowing me down if you don't watch your tongue!" She said.

"Wanna bet?"

They looked at each other, giggling like five year olds.

Almost a ten seconds before they realised how awkward it was. Juniper blushed to the colour of a bright red tomato, while Daedalus looked the other way.

He hadn't felt this feeling since Emerald, Daedalus missed it.

Juniper hid her crimson hot face behind her hoodie and walked beside him.

But she was very bouncy, being next to him comforted her; like she was an excited kitten. Seeing her mother for the first time in years.
