I think what hurts the most about Ashton leaving was how he did it so secretly.

And so willingly.

He didn't even seem to care about how we felt.

About how I would feel.

I don't exactly know what to say to him when I find him....

But I've been dreaming about that day for a year now.

***

As the boys left, and Ashton shut down the door behind them,I crossed my arms.

He look back at me." "What?"

Smirking at him, "you never said they were going to be cute."

"Oh no!" He exclaimed, starling me. "No, no, no, no!"

"What Ash? What?!?"

"I already told them you are off limits. And to you- they are off limits."

I barely had time to argue back. "B-but."

"No! No boys from my band. They're just going to break your heart!"

"Ashton!" I yelled, blinking tears from my eyes. "They seem sweet."

"Yeah. Just wait till the next pretty girl they see."

"Doesn't one of them have a girlfriend." I spat, my eyes still wet.

"Yep." Ashton said, pooping the p. "Luke. A girl named Aleshia."

"See? One is already off limits."

Ashton's eyes were furious. "I don't think you get it."

I gulped.

"A no. Is a NO!!"

Tears streaming down my face, I turned to run up the stairs.

"Wait- Avery-"

No. He doesn't own me.

And with that, I ran up the stairs.

Leaving him.

***

That was our very first fight.

And a pretty stupid one.

I mean, I had always had a crush on the boys.

I couldn't deny that.

But I did end up listening to Ashton.

I know what every boy is capable of.

There capable of the worst kind of pain.

Heartbreak.

Heartache.
