Today is Tuesday. Yesterday went by really fast. I didn't make any friends, except for Shawn. He was sweet and gentle. We had all classes together which was relieving, because I barely know anyone here. Besides Shawn and my brother, but Cameron is in a different grade.
Anyway I got up at 6:30 and went to the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and combed through my hair. Now it's time to get dressed. It was still kinda warm outside, but not really. So I just settled on some grey mid-Calf length yoga pants with a black v-neck t-shirt, and some Nike running shoes.
I ran down stairs and noticed Cameron and my mom whispering. I could make out what they were saying, but they almost never whisper to each other. "Hey what are yall taking about?" I said as I rounded the corner. "Stuff." They both replied at once. I just shook it off and went on with my morning. For breakfast I just had a banana and some water.
"Your father has called and wanted to talk to you." She said calmly, but I was furious. "So after 10 years of leaving us, not talking to us, and not telling us where the hell he is? He finally wants to talks? Nope no way. I'm gonna make him suffers like how he made us suffer." At this point I didn't know if I was screaming or talking calmly. "We will talk about this after school mom." Cameron said as he was taking my hand and leading me out to his car.
I didn't say a word the whole way there, neither did Cameron. I guess we were both thinking.
We arrived at school and I felt somewhat happy. I don't know why I just was.
I made it to my first hour and Shawn was already sitting there. "Hey beautiful!" Shawn said with a smile on his face. "Hey um you don't have to call me beautiful, it's not true." I said with a faint giggle. "Of course your beautiful, no other girl in this school compares to you."
At this point I didn't know what to say. I was just amazed at the fact that possibly the hottest boy in my school thinks I'm beautiful! "Natalie is that a yes or a no?" He asks knocking me out of my daze. "Uhh yes?" I said. "Great I'll pick you up at 6:30, don't dress to fancy. Okay?" I just nod. Judging by what he said I take it we are going out on a date.
******skipping to after school******
I know I have to tell Cameron, because I just can't disappear for an hour and a half and not expect him to be looking for me.
"So Cameron, this guy I met-" he cut me off by saying, "Have I met him? Did he make fun of you? Did he hurt you?" I just say no to everything. "Now if you would have let me finish you would not have asked all those questions, I was gonna say this guy I met yesterday asked me if I wanted to go out with him tonight around 6:30?" I asked with him quickly responding, "Is he coming by to pick you up?" I nod and he continued. "I guess it's okay, but I wanna talk to him, and if he seems like a jerk you will not go out, you hear me?" I look at him and give him a glare. "You are not my father, you don't always have to be rude about every guy I see!"
I understand that Cameron was just being protective and I know why. Because the last time a boy asked me out he hurt me, in every possible way you can think of. And me being the stupid one didn't tell anyone for the whole 6 months we dated.
