It wasn't uncommon for Eliza to be alone at Rousseau's whenever she decided to stay back after her shift to clean up or when she got there early in the morning before the place even opened and before anyone else came to work. She enjoyed the silence in the bar; it was a rare that she experienced that considering Marcel's vampires usually hung out at the compound or there was a party going on somewhere which she was obligated to attend due to being Marcel's girlfriend.

So whenever Eliza had the chance to be alone in the bar, she resorted to it. It gave her some time to overthink important stuff for example how they would be able to figure out if Klaus was actually compelling her best friend. Marcel knew a way to undo the compulsion but Ellie didn't want to put Evan through that pain unless she was sure that he was being compelled. And right now, she wasn't completely sure that Evan was just trying to get on Klaus' good side despite everything she had told him about her brother.

Eliza was just about to disappear into the kitchen when she felt a presence behind her that she knew all too well. "I was wondering when you would show up." "Forgive me, I would've come to you sooner but as you know I had a dagger in my chest." The vampire nodded and looked at him sternly, unsure of what to say or how to act because she had always been the closest to Elijah and she had left him behind, too without telling him that she was actually alive.

"I don't know what to say," she admitted when her brother stayed quiet as well and both of them just looked at each other. Elijah had barely changed since the last time Eliza had last seen him. Of course he didn't age but his appearance hadn't changed either; he was still wearing suits and his brown hair was gelled back slightly. Come to think of it, Eliza hadn't changed that much either. She had tried different hairstyles over the years but    that was about all the physical change she went through.

"We mourned you." Eliza bit her lip when her brother stepped closer, his hands were buried in the pockets of pants and his facial expression didn't change at all. "I mourned you," he corrected himself, putting emphasis on the 'I'. "I know," the young woman whispered. She knew that her family had been devastated by her 'death' but she figured they would get over it at some point but it seemed to be hard on Elijah still.

"Nevertheless, I understand why you think you had no other choice," he stated causing the strawberry blonde to look up at him with a frown. "You do?" "Eliza, I am by no means okay with all of Niklaus' decisions," his facial expression softened as he looked down at his little sister who visibly got less tense knowing that she didn't have to explain herself. "I suppose he was so afraid of losing you to another man that he didn't realize killing him would make us lose you for good."

Eliza shook her head, "no, he lost me. Rebekah lost me, Kol lost me. They betrayed me but you never did. You never lost me, Elijah. And I really wanted to tell you about my plan but you've always been loyal to Klaus and I couldn't risk him finding out." Her brother stayed quiet once  again, not sure what to say. "I'm sorry, Elijah."
