Chapter 9

Later that night Evie was showing everyone what kind of bugs ate their mummy. "He was alive when they start eating him." Everyone was disgusted so Addilyn walked away and she noticed the Egyptologist cradling his prized book. She walked back to the tent because she wanted to know what their friend did to suffer this gruesome end but she fell asleep. Evie thought it was a good thing to 'borrow' the black book but that didn't go unnoticed by Rick. "This maybe the book of the dead." "Are you sure you want to play around with this thing." "It's just a book." Evie opened the book making the wind howl.

Addilyn woke up feeling cold so she walked out of the tent to see Evie looking through the book she saw earlier. "Should she be reading that?" She asked Rick but he just shrugged his shoulders. "Amun Ra. Amun Dei. Speaks of the night and day." Addilyn wanted to tell Evie not to read but no words would come out. "YOU MUST NOT READ FROM THE BOOK!" the Egyptologist yelled but it was to late. The wind started to change, and locusts came in a huge horde. Everyone ran inside, Addilyn grabbed Evie hand and leaped onto a ledge.

Rick kept looking at them as the bug made notice in the hallway. Evie leaned on the wall causing the wall to turn making them both fall down a slide. The slide ends and Evie won't move 2 feet away from the wall but Addilyn thought she saw a figure walking around. She moved toward the figure, but Evie won't let her go. "Wait, that's Mr. Burns." Evie let go of Addilyn and walked slowly to Mr. Burns but when he turned around Addilyn noticed he was missing his eyes and tongue.

"Mr. Burns what happened to you?" Evie asked. "He can't answer you, Aunt Evie you need to get back to the wall." They walked back to the wall when the mummy appeared in front of them. "Anuk-Su-Namun? Rania?" The mummy looked closer to Addilyn and went to grab her hair when Rick ran in front of them. "What are you doing?! Woah!" Rick quickly shot the mummy and they ran out of the tomb. "Ammon! The mummy is alive, is this what you mentioned?" He nodded. A man came forth "You have doomed us all; no mortal weapons can kill the creature." Rick held up his gun "Relax I got him."

The man glared at Rick "I just said no mortal weapons can kill him." The man walked into the tomb. Ammon went to follow him but stopped and looked at Addilyn "We will stop him." He smiled and followed the man. The Americans got their horses and left. Evie felt guilty but kept her mouth shut while Addilyn fell asleep against Jonathan. None of the 3 groups saw the hand coming from the earth.
