"You okay ?" I ask him as we sit in the office waiting for them to turn up . He sits in the chair beside me looking nervous as hell and simply nods his head . I grab his hand and squeeze it gently . "Hey, it's gonna be ok ." He sighs and nods once again .
A couple minutes later two people dressed all smart walk into the room and sit on 2 of the chairs on the opposite side of the table, beside the guidance counsellor . They introduce themselves then pretty much get straight to the point . The CPS know about Ken's situation and are concerned about his surroundings and they think that may be related to his failing certain subjects . They're suggesting he goes to stay with nearby family or they'll find him somewhere else safe to stay like a group home or with foster parents . Ken doesn't seem to be loving that idea .
"Why I can't just stay with my brother ? I know he ain't do it ." He says .
"Because under the current circumstances your brother is not in any position to look after you with his drug dependency and reckless attitude ." One of the social workers replies .
He kisses his teeth . "Mane whatever, can I leave now ?"
"We'll be coming back to check up on you every so often just to make sure everything is okay ." The man says .
"Alright ." Ken sighs then stands up and walks out of the office . I look up at them with embarrassment then say goodbye before following after Ken .
"See, that wasn't so bad ." I try to sound optimistic .
"Yeah, I guess ."
"You wanna come over now ?" I ask .
"Do we get to finish what we started earlier ." He bites his lip .
"We ain't finishing nun but we can definitely continue ." I smirk and peck his lips .
"Aye, I been waiting for yo ass for damn near an hour !" Royalty yells, approaching us .
"What, why ?" I ask her .
"We was supposed to work on our science project, remember ?"
