"Knock, knock..?" Billy called cautiously, through the door to the spare room.
"You can come in, Billy." Angella called back, from the bed.
Billy pushed the door open, gently, and padded into the room. "I heard you..."
"I'm sorry if I woke you."
"It's ok. I wasn't asleep. But... what's wrong?"
"I had a bad dream, that's all. But it's over now." Billy nodded. "So why are you still awake?"
"I couldn't sleep so I stayed up and played with my lego."
"Can I see it?"
Billy stood up, and left the room and a moment later, he returned with his lego box. The first thing he took out, was a small house, and then he took out a large, square, green board. "You can build legos on this." He said, passing the board to Angella.
"Do you always do this when you can't sleep?"
Billy nodded. "I can only do it at night because in the day I have to go to school."
"What about weekends?"
"I do other things on weekends. Once, I went to the zoo. And once, I went to the fair. And once, I went to the seaside. See? I can't do my legos in the day, so I can only do it when I can't sleep because that's the only time when I'm not doing other things, but I only know how to make a house. Once, I couldn't sleep all night, so I made a town. I liked it."
"Well, do you want me to help you build something else?" Billy nodded, enthusiastically.

The next morning, Angella awakened on the floor with Billy, surrounded in lego pieces. At first, she was confused, but then she remembered the night before, when she had been teaching Billy how to make a variety of structures with his lego. Admittedly, she'd had fun, but she still wanted to leave. However, she had decided to wait until the dreams made a little more sense, before she left. The dreams came back on occasion, but not often.

Soon, the school summer holidays came around, so Angella decided to go out for a wander. What she didn't expect, was for Billy to go everywhere with her.

Most days, Angella decided that she just wanted to get some fresh air, so she just went for a short walk around the block, and every time she left, Billy followed her. Sometimes, he just wandered behind her, sometimes he was full of energy, and ran in front a little, but then stopped and waited for her to come close, before running off again. Then, there were the other times, when Billy walked beside Angella and talked. He mostly spoke about school and his friends, but for some unknown reason, Angella always knew that there as something else on his mind, although she didn't know what it was. In the end, she concluded that she would just have to wait until Billy told her what he'd been thinking about.
On other days, Angella decided she wanted a change of scenery, so she headed into the town, and wandered round some shops, sometimes also stopping for lunch. Billy also followed her here, as well. Angella didn't mind spending some extra money on him, but she was confused as to why he'd gotten so attached to her. Billy didn't talk much, he just walked along beside Angella, and looked int the shops. On one particular outing, when they were sat down for lunch, Angella turned to Billy.
"When's your birthday, Billy?"
"The tenth of August." Billy told her, quietly.
"Are you having a party?" Billy shook his head. "Why not?"
"I didn't want a party." He said. "Toby's having a party on the same day, and everyone was invited, but not me. So I told mother I didn't want a party, because of Toby's party."
"But you could have a party for your family..." Angella suggested, confused, but Billy just shook his head.
"A party is no fun without friends from school."
"Oh, ok then."
Neither of them said anything else. They both just sat there and finished eating; then once they had finished, they agreed to head back home.

Once or twice, during the holidays, Angella decided that she was simply bored and so she went to the park and sat on the swings. Still, Billy went with her. He sat on the grass in front of her, with her sketch book.
"You're a really good drawer." He said, out of the blue. Most of Angella's drawing were of people, but there was one, that was different. It was a drawing of a dog. It was a big dog. "What's this?" Billy held up the page.
"It's a St.Bernard." Angella told him.
"What's that?"
"St.Bernards are big dogs with lots of fur. They like to help people."
"Like you?"
"I don't know, Billy."
"Oh..." Billy put his head down and continued to look through the sketch book.
"Thank you, Billy."
"For what?"
"For saying I'm a good drawer."
"It's true."

That summer, Billy went everywhere with Angella. She could never understand why, but she just accepted it.
