Angella focused on hope. She visualised it as a small silver father, floating in the air beside her. Only she could see it.
She stood in waiting.
There was a flash, and suddenly she was staring into the face of Satan. The only thing stronger than fear she thought to herself is hope. She focused her eyes on Satan, but her mind on hope.
"Angel." Said sighed.
"Devil." Angella growled.
"Not in a good mood today, are we?"
"Actually, I am. But you won't be."
"Don't lie to me, angel."
"I'm not."
Angella held out her hand, as if she was expecting Satan to give her something. When he went to hold her hand, she moved it away. "See. Angels can be full of trickery, too." Angella grinned, as Satan scowled.
She focused on hope.
"Is this your plan, Angel?" Satan scoffed. "One little trick, and you'll be free?"
"No." Angella smirked. "The key to battling yourself is to set hope free. As I have done." She stepped aside to reveal Billy, unchained. Satan gasped in disbelief.
"You cannot go anywhere!"
He snapped his fingers, and as the cloud of smoke lingered, Angella grabbed Billy's hand and whispered "hold on tight". She then jumped into the smoke, and the two of them were caught in Satan's teleport.
Angella focused on hope, and on Billy.

Angella's eyes fluttered open as she awakened to see the bright light of day. "Sunlight?" She thought aloud. "But it's not possible..." Then she remembered her trick. She sat up, looked across the grass, and saw Billy sleeping happily by a large oak tree. She walked over to him, and then crouched down beside him, gently shaking his shoulder. "Billy." She said. "We're safe." He blinked, as he awoke, and then looked around, dazed.
"Is the bad man gone?"
"Yes, Billy. We're safe."
"You did it?"
"No, Billy. We did it." Billy smiled his buck-tooth smile, just as Angella was engulfed by a flash of light. Suddenly, she was gone.

"WHERE AM I?!" Angella shouted, as everything she saw became white.
"Home." Said a deep voice, above her. She looked up. Gasped.
"My Lord..." She muttered, bowing her head.
"You have done well, Miss Flen. Now you will have a choice."
"A choice?" She asked, lifting her head with a confused expression.
"You outsmarted Satan, and therefore regained your dignity. Now you have a choice, as to whether you come back to us in heaven and go back to being a fully-fledged angel, or whether you would like to stay on Earth with the boy, Billy."
"There's a reason I found him, wasn't there?"
"There was."
"What was it?"
"He was the boy who remembered you the most. He never stopped loving those he lost, and he could recall everything you had ever told him. He was the best to help you."
"Why did you want me back? Every other angel who has fallen went to Hell."
"Every angel had a chance to come back, but none listened. You were the first to listen."
"Oh..." Angella thought a moment. "If I come back with you, do I get to say goodbye?"
"No."
"Then I would like to stay on Earth."
"Very well." God fashioned a stair-case that lead from his realm, Heaven, to the middle plain, Earth. He bowed His head to Angella, and handed her a broach. "So that you remember us, take this broach. It is a sign that you defeated Satan." The broach was a silver feather, with "dignity" written in gold letters.
"Thank you, Lord." She bowed her head, then turned to descend to Earth.
"Angella... There is no way back, once your feet touch the ground."
She turned to Him and said "I know." Then she walked the whole way down the staircase, which finished off just in front of Billy.
"Miss Flen!" Billy exclaimed. "Where did you go?"
"To Heaven."
"Does that mean you have to leave?"
"No, Billy." Angella smiled. "I'm staying with you." Billy's eyes lit up.
"Forever?"
"Forever."
