Onward To Atlas

(It's me again💛 Also there's a small time skip here since the beginning of this story I wrote out before Blake reunited with the rest of Team RWBY in the show lmao)

After a few days at where we were staying, we all decided it was best to push on and head to Atlas to retrieve the next relic. We fought hard a few days ago. Weiss had healed up from fighting with Cinder, and Oscar had rested a while before finally waking up from fainting.

I sighed heavily as I packed my duffle bag before we headed out to the train station. Ruby rubbed my shoulder when she came to check on me. "Hey, how you feeling?"

I shrugged, smiling lightly. "I'm fine. I'm glad all of us are alright." I hoisted the bag over my shoulder, turning fully to face her. "Come on, let's get going."

We were all happy and laughing as we traveled to the station, and soon we were getting ready to board. I glanced up as Blake was saying goodbye to Sun, Neptune, and Illia. She had explained that she and Illia we're friends for a while, but she hadn't seen her after leaving the White Fang and going to Beacon. I nodded at her words, a small part of me still wondering if there had possibly been more than friendly feelings. Though I pushed that aside and brushed it off as paranoia.

A bit later we were on the train and I was reaching for my duffle bag, Blake rushing over to help me. I smiled softly at her as we turned towards each other. "Blake, I'm alright. There's no need to worry about me."

"R-right. Sorry." A dusty rose hue appeared on her cheeks as she looked down, her cat ears flattening against her hair.

I smiled softly and placed a hand on her shoulder as Uncle Qrow appeared in the doorway, drink in hand. He was smiling, happy to see that all of us were bonding.

"How are you girls doing in here? We should be arriving in Atlas in a-." His words were cut short as the train violently shook, causing those of us standing to stumble. "What the hell? Let's go." He drops his drink and rushes down the hall, the the four of us following and joining up with the rest of our group.

***Blake POV***

My heart seemed to launch into my throat when Yang placed her hand on my shoulder, only to drop when the train shook. As we rushed down the halls of the train we heard people screaming; several of them questioning what was happening.

"Let's get on the roof so we can see what's happening!" Ruby called out, motioning her hand towards the door. She was out first, followed out by Weiss right after.

As soon as we each stepped foot onto the top of the train, we turned to see the mass of Manticore Grimm that had appeared. "Where did they come from!?" I cried out, pulling out Gymbol Shroud and readying myself to fight.

"I don't know, but no matter where they came from they're here. We need to protect the passengers." Ruby pulled out her scythe and opened it, aiming it at one of the Manticore. "Ready guys?"

"Ready!" We all responded in unison, each of us rushing forward.

"What do we do now, Ruby!?" I called out, seeing that we were barely making a dent in the mass of Grimm.

She grinned at me for a split moment. "Our old tactics."

I nodded, rushing forward with Yang as Ruby called out our duo name, "Bumblebee!"

"Incoming!" I yelled, wrapping the ribbon of Gymbol Shroud around the neck of a Manticore. This allowed Yang to punch right through it, the two of us landing back on our feet beside each other.

"Good to see you're not rusty." She grinned slightly before we returned to fighting the hoard of Grimm before us, our backs pressed together as Weiss and Ruby teamed up.

"I didn't exactly get a break." I managed to call out as we fought, the two of us soon breaking apart.

It was a while before I noticed Jaune, Ren and Nora had disappeared inside as Ruby came running back up from the entrance. "Hang on!" She yelled as the train cars we were standing on suddenly detached from the rest.

The Grimm slammed into a tunnel, some of them going over it as we plunged into the snow beside the tracks. 'Ouch..' My ears pressed against my head as I landed, taking a moment to get up. Looking around, it seemed the other three had been on the train as it kept going. That left Ruby, Weiss, Yang, Qrow, Oscar, and myself. As well as an old lady with what looked like robotic goggles in place of her eyes. Wait. Where did she come from?
