Virgil and Roman are woken up by an announcement for breakfast. They both get up and get dressed before heading out to the dining hall.
When they got their food they headed to their table. They cracked a few jokes and told each other some random facts about them. Virgil learned Roman is also a big fan of the color purple, mainly due to its attachment to royalty. Roman learned that Virgil is very interested in astronomy. He's been studying constellations and the different planets. Along with how they both agree that Pluto is a planet.
After chilling in the cabin for a little after breakfast they hear the announcement for the first activity; canoeing. As they walked over to the dock, Virgil felt the anxiety creeping up on him. Roman took notice and said,

"If at any point you want to sneak away. I'll join you." Virgil nodded and took a deep breath. They walked onto the dock and got set up on a canoe. Roman took hold of both oars since he knew how to canoe. Once they set out into the water they were told they could go anywhere they want but to not pass the red net surrounding the camp. They had a lot more freedom then they expected. As Roman started to row more out of range from the camp Virgil was on the brink of a panic attack. His breathing was fast and short. His hands were shaking and he looked like he was going to cry.
Roman stopped the boat and grabbed Virgil's shoulders and told him to breathe.

"Virge, breathe. I won't let anything happen to you." Virgil takes a deep breath and looks around. He keeps taking deep breaths and eventually calms down. Roman continues rowing the canoe.

"Hey Ro, can I take an oar?" Virgil asks after some time.

"Sure, do you need help?" Roman asks and ands him an oar. Virgil shakes his head,

"I've been watching how you do it. I think I got it." He says and starts rowing. The afternoon is warm and peaceful for the two of them.
When the announcement for the next activity they row back and get told to put on their bathing suits.
They quickly head to their cabin and grab their swim trunks. They head to the bathrooms and take turns changing. Virgil head in first. Needless to say, he despises swimming. He doesn't like showing his body. Thus the reason why he's always wearing his hoodie. He's skinny, and weak, but he's confident in himself. For the most part. It's other people who are the problem.
Roman goes in next and comes out in his red and white trunks. Virgil avoids staring at Roman's fit body. He feels himself turn red. He quickly pretends to sneeze to hide the blush.

'What the heck?! Why am I blushing?' Virgil thought as Roman walked up to him.

"Bless you. Ready to go?" He asks and Virgil looks up at him and smiles a little,

"Uh- yeah. Thanks." He says and they walk over to the deck, the camp counselors basically just say, that they can swim wherever just don't leave camp. Everyone nods and Virgil looks at Roman who's smirking.

"Ro, what are you thi- AHHHH ROMAN PUT ME DOWN." Virgil yells as Roman picks him up and throws him in the water and then jumps in. Virgil swims over to Roman fuming,

"You jerk." He says and splashes Roman. Roman splashes back and then swims away.

"Where are we going?" Virgil asks as he follows Roman.

"While we were canoeing I saw a path. I'm curious where it leads. We're going to find out." Roman says and Virgil smirks and swims in front of him.

"Since when did you break rules?" He asks teasingly.

"Since I realized that this camp has some weird secret path. Lets go it's not too far from here." Roman says and Virgil smiles and swims with Roman until they reach the path. Which they discovered, is not a path, much to their disappointment. They swim around a little more before they get called to the dock.
They swim to the dock and see a huge obstacle course. They soon discover that they'll be racing each other. They have to wait a little while before their turn. They swim around and talk a bit before they're called over. They get ready and when they hear the whistle, Roman and Virgil take off. Virgil was behind for a bit before he ran ahead after Roman fell over a blow up hurdle. They almost tied when Virgil jumped into the water with a loud splash. Roman jumped in immediately after and the two swam out laughing. They were given towels and they were told they can sit on the sand or walk around camp until dinner by the bonfire.
Virgil sits down away from all the commotion and Roman joins him.

"Who's a klutz now Ro?" Virgil says and
Roman laughs before lightly elbowing him.
They sat there in silence before Roman put his arm around Virgil's shoulders and watched the other teams from a distance.

"Today was actually fun." Virgil says and Roman looks over at him and smiles,

"Yeah, yeah it was." Virgil smiles too and then they see everyone walking over to where the Bonfire is supposed to be. They get up, Romans arm no longer around Virgil, and walk over to the fire pit. They sit down next to each other and noticing how Roman looks very anxious, Virgil says,

"Are you okay?" Roman nods and Virgil places his hand on Romans as a way to calm him. A skill he learned from Patton.
Roman felt calmer. But when the fire started, Roman flinched slightly. Virgil told him to breathe and to help him, cracked a lame joke Roman laughed at. When Dinner was served Virgil moved his hand to grab his plate. Roman secretly missed his presence. He didn't know why. But he didn't mind when Virgil "held" his hand. Little did he know, Virgil also missed his presence, he missed Romans arm around his shoulders. He felt calm he felt protected, he didn't feel anxious at all.
After they finished up Dinner, the counselors handed out freshly made s'mores. Roman and Virgil both agreed that it's for the best that they don't trust teens with fire. Also, because Romans scared, but that was more of an unspoken truth. They both ate their s'mores and laughed a bit more with some other campers. Roman without a word, puts his arm around Virgil. They continue the night until 9 when they went back to their cabin.

"Are you tired?" Roman asks, Virgil shakes his head,

"What about you?" Virgil asks and Roman also shakes his head. They both sit on the couch, Roman turns on the little lamp on the coffee table. It provides little light, but it's better than turning on the main light. Slowly, Virgil sneaks over by Romans side of the couch. Roman notices and smiles,

"Can't get enough of me can you?" He says jokingly. Virgil turns bright pink and scratches the back of his neck.

"I'm kidding Virge." Roman says smiling. Virgil smiles too and moves a little bit more, so he's right next to Roman. Roman smiles softly and puts his arm around him. Virgil gently lays his head on his shoulder and closes his eyes.
They still make jokes and talk for a while and they start talking more about their personal life and hobbies they have. They talk about shows they like and movies they've watched. They talk about the future and what it holds. Virgil also mentions the broken AC. Which Roman offers to fix,
"You know how to fix it?" Virgil asks,

"Yeah, i've seen Logan fix it countless times." Roman says softly. Virgil's nods and says,

"Thanks."

After a few hours, near the brink of dawn. Roman hears quiet snoring coming from Virgil. He gently moves over to his bed and grabs his blanket. He sits back down and Virgil half asleep, immediately snuggles up to Roman. Roman's face turns a light dusting of pink. He puts the blanket around both of them before placing his arm around Virgil once again and, without thinking, starts playing with his hair. He closes his eyes and softly whispers,

"Goodnight Virgil." He hears a faint whisper in return,

"Goodnight Roman." He smiles softly and then slowly drifts too sleep.
