The first few weeks went about the same as the first few days, with some different activities. The one new thing was that there is going to be 'Manual Cabin Checks' at midnight to make sure no campers are sneaking around.
Virgil and Roman head to their cabin around 11. They sit on the couch and Virgil lays his head on Romans legs. Roman puts his hand through his hair and starts playing with it.
When they hear a counselor coming near their cabin they both sit up and act like they're laughing about something. When the counselors see them they smile and wave before closing the door again. They've only talked to one counselor, Joan. They're super nice and is head counselor so they let Roman and Virgil out after hours sometimes.
Roman two weeks in, found a way onto the roof of their cabin, he showed Virgil who was hesitant but climbed up anyway.
They waited for a little while, they were the last cabin checked since they were the farthest away. They waited until around 1am and then snuck out to the back of their cabin. They climbed up the metal pipes that pretty much makes a ladder. Since they're so far from the counselors quarters, it's not very easy to see them up there. Roman lays down and Virgil lays next him. His arms above his head as he watches the stars above. Roman looks over at the slightly shorter boy, the black smudges under both his eyes, the fading purple in his hair.
'He looks so calm.' Roman thinks as he turns and faces Virgil. Virgil looks over and smiles. Roman smiles too and they both stare into each others eyes. They hear a counselor call their names and they sit up quickly. When they realize it's Joan they both feel relieved.

"Hey lovebirds." Joan says Roman laughs at the nickname and Virgil turns into a literal tomato.
"Hey Joan, we're getting down soon don't worry." Roman says and Joan smiles.

"Remember 3 strikes. I can't always cover for you guys." They say and they both nod. They say goodnight and walks back toward the main camp area. Both Roman and Virgil agree to go back inside. They quickly climb down and head back in onto the couch. Roman sits down and Virgil lays down on his legs and stares up into the skylight. The lights are off so he can see the stars from the couch. Roman laughs at a thought he has and Virgil looks at him and asks,

"What are you laughing at?" Curiosity laced in his voice.

"Literally a few weeks ago we couldn't even look at each other without one of us saying something. Now we're practically inseparable. Well, we have to stay together in this camp but you get my point." Virgil moves and sits up he sits facing Roman and smiles,

"I get your point. I guess we just needed to talk or something. But this is way better than us always fighting. You like hated me." Virgil says and Roman looks over at him. His eyebrows scrunched.

"I never hated you. We just didn't get along. I was positive you hated me." Virgil looks up and smiles,

"I never hated you either. My temper is just terrible." He says and Roman smiles and then Virgil gets up and grabs a blanket. He walks back over and sees Roman laying down.

"Really? I wanted to lay down." Virgil says faking a pout. Roman moves over and says,

"The lay down." Virgil smiles and blushes before laying down next Roman. He lays his head on his chest and listens to his heartbeat. He starts laughing and says,

"Why is your heart beating so fast? It sounds like an EDM song." Roman smiles and says,

"I don't know maybe it's because of you." Virgil's laugh cuts itself off. And Roman starts laughing. He lays his chin on Romans chest and faces him. Roman looks down at him and smile softly. Virgil puts his head back down and listens to his heartbeat again, it's a lot slower. He feels Roman start messing with his hair. He quickly moves up a little so his head was under Romans chin. He closed his eyes and felt
himself slowly drifting off. Roman lightly kisses his head before he hears Virgil ask softly,

"What are we?" Virgil lifts his head up revealing a soft blush and a spark of curiosity in his eyes.

"Good question. I don't know." He could've sworn he heard Virgil say softly, 'Boyfriends?' But he didn't want to question it.
They both lightly laugh and then Virgil lays so his back is on the couch and he's facing the skylight. Roman wraps his arms around Virgil and grabs his hands in his. They link fingers and Virgil smiles. He turns his head so he can see Roman, he catches him staring and stares back. He quickly leans up and kisses Roman on the cheek. Then turns and faces the skylight once more.
Since it was dark in the cabin, (being that it's 3am) neither of them could see that they're both tomatoes. Roman smiles to himself as he pulls Virgil closer to him. He closes his eyes and hears Virgil say quietly,

"Goodnight Ro." He smiles to himself before quietly saying,

"Goodnight Virge." And then they both slowly fall asleep in each others arms.
