As the weeks of camp continued, things went as usual. Except with more cuddles and kisses than before. They didn't want to be open to the rest of camp, so they kept it at hand holding. Though, behind closed doors, they wouldn't mind a little kiss from time to time.
They told Joan about their relationship. As they now know what they are. They were obviously very supportive, and shipped them already.
As the last day of camp ended, Virgil and Roman were heading up to the bus. Once seated, Virgil rested his head on Romans shoulder and held his hand. Roman rested his head on top of Virgil's and said,
"We should mess with Logan and Patton." Virgil nodded and smiled,
"How?" He said quietly.
"We tell them we're not friends and act mad and then sit on the couch or something and do this." Roman said and Virgil laughed,
"Perfect." He said and closed his eyes. For the rest of the ride, Virgil slept while Roman listened to music with Virgil's headphones. He smiled at the quiet boy next to him.
Once they arrived at the bus stop, Roman woke Virgil up quietly,
"Hey, are you ready?" He says and Virgil smiles and nods. They get up and head off the bus. The walk to the Mind Palace was relatively short. When they reached the house they saw Logan and Patton standing at the porch. Patton smiled brightly and pulled the two into a hug. Logan patted their shoulders and smiled.
"I missed you two. How are you kiddo? Are you two friends?" Patton says quickly. Logan smiles and says,
"I would also like to know the answer." Roman looks at Virgil and they try to stay serious. They fail and start laughing. Logan and Patton look at them confused.
"What's so funny?" Logan asks and Virgil and Roman just shrug and walk inside.
"And to answer your question, no we aren't friends." Roman says and sits down on the couch. Logan looks disappointed and Patton looks sad. Virgil quickly sits down and grabs his hand and rests his head on his shoulder. Logan looks at them weirdly before it finally snaps in his head, he smiles very brightly. Patton immediately gets it and jumps up and down in excitement.
"AREYOUGUYSDATING?! OHMYGAWD." Patton says fangirling. Logan laughs a very small laugh and nods at the question.
"Patton, it's very obvious." Logan says still smiling.
"Yes." Virgil and Roman way at the same time. Patton fan girls some more before finally sitting down next to them and smiling.
"We also have some news." Logan says sitting next to Patton. Virgil and Roman sit up and worry rushes through them.
"It's not bad don't worry." Patton says smiling. Logan nods and quietly grabs Patton's hand. Virgil doesn't notice it and when Roman does he points it out to Virgil who says,
"Wait a minute. You two are a thing too?" He says still looking at their hands. Logan turns a very light shade of pink and Patton just smiles and nods. Roman and Virgil both share a moment of fan girling. And then they all head off to do their own things. Virgil and Roman spend the entire night together. They lay in Romans room and watch some disney movies together while cuddling.
They fall asleep in each other's arms. Patton walks in and sees them and smiles before leaving the room again. They sleep like that almost every night.
If you were to ask them before camp, if they'd ever fall for one another.
The answer would most certainly be no.
But somehow, these two polar opposites just needed some time together and lived, like a cheesy Disney movie,
Happily Ever After.
