Virgil wakes up on Saturday and smiles remembering today they have a free day to do whatever they want. Virgil lays on Roman for a little while longer before waking him up.
"Hey Ro, you've gotta get up." Virgil says slightly shaking Romans shoulder, who opens his eyes slightly and smiles. Virgil goes and gets some clothes and Roman follow. They both walk outside and realize it's raining. They, well Roman, go inside and grab a hoodie to put on, and then head out.
They ask Joan if they can go canoeing for a little. When Joan said yes after some *slight* pleading. Roman and Virgil headed out to the dock and got ready. Once they started rowing the raining slowed very slightly.
Roman stopped rowing when they reached an area pretty far from camp. Virgil thought it'd be funny splash Roman with water and started laughing. Roman smirked and started rocking the canoe. Virgil tried to stand up but ended up falling into the water. Causing Roman to literally die of laughter. Virgil used whatever strength he had and pushed the canoe over, causing Roman to fly out.
He came up from under water and started splashing Virgil. Virgil laughed and splashed back. They had a mini splashing war, before getting back on the canoe and trying to find the oars. The last thing they needed was to get in trouble for losing the camps property.
Once they find both of them, Roman brings them back to camp and once they quickly change into new clothes; They both (after grabbing an umbrella) head out and walk around camp.
They walk around and as they reach the other side of camp, they come across a path near the edge of the woods. Virgil was the first to go in and Roman, surprisingly hesitant, followed close behind. They walked the path for a little while longer before coming across a bridge that leads to a small cavern. This time, Roman went ahead first and Virgil followed close behind. When a roar of thunder came Virgil, almost immediately grabbed Romans hand. Roman intertwined (i love that word idk why) their fingers and they continued walking until they reached the cavern. Once they did, they walked in together and discovered that it was actually very small. The only way they would both fit is if they sat down in it. They both sat down, Virgil in front of Roman, since there wasn't enough space for him to sit next to Roman.
The rain still made its way into the cavern so both of them got soaking wet, yet again. As they sat there, making small talk and cracking a few jokes now and then. After some time, Virgil and Roman stopped talking and just silently enjoyed the sound of the rain, and each other's presence. Virgil had adjusted himself so he could rest his head on Romans chest, Roman snaked his arms around Virgil and held him close.
The rain had gotten worse so they decided to head back to camp. They both made their way out of the small cavern and started on their way back. About halfway there Roman stops walking, much to Virgil's confusion.
"Ro? Are you okay?" Roman nods and Virgil looks at him weirdly. Roman smiles and lightly grabs Virgil's hand.
"I'm okay Virge. Just thinking about something I want to do." Virgil tilts his head and scrunches his eyebrows,
"What is that?" He asks and Roman laughs and shakes his head,
"Never mind. It's nothing." He says and tries to start walking when he realizes Virgil isn't following him.
"Virgil come on it's really nothing." Roman says and Virgil smiles and says,
"Hey. i'm just curious. It has to be something." Roman walks up to Virgil and says,
"I want to do something but i don't know if you want too." Virgil looks at him weirdly before he gets the hint and turns a light dusting of pink. He smiles and asks,
"Roman, do you want to kiss me?" Now it's Roman who's turning bright red as he looks around at the trees. Virgil smiles and wraps his arms around Romans shoulders. Roman looks down and smiles.
"That depends." Virgil smiles and rolls his eyes. Roman leans in and Virgil does too. They kiss for a brief moment, times stops for them. It felt like hours but it was only a few seconds. The rain falling around them. To some people, a rainy, muddy, forest may not be the most ideal spot. But to them;
It Was Perfect.
They make there way to their cabin when they see Joan standing there. They, almost immediately, let go of each other's hands. Joan smiles and says,
"Hello Lovebirds. I saw you two holding hands!" They say and do a little cheer. Virgil grabs Romans hand again and smiles at Joan before, just to set them off. Pecking Roman on the cheek. Joan, being Joan, laughs and pats them both on the shoulder before heading back over to the counselors quarters. Roman and Virgil head inside, and quickly Virgil kisses Roman on the cheek, before heading over to the couch and sitting down. Romans cheeks turn pink and he smiles as he sits next to Virgil. Immediately Virgil snuggles up to Roman and stays there. Roman laughs before kissing his head and saying,
"Thanks for making today actually great. You're the only real reason I like it here now." Virgil looks up at Roman and smiles.
"I should be thanking you." He says and Roman smiles and kisses him. It's not as fast as the first time but it was only for a few second more. When Roman opens his eyes he smiles at the sight of the now red faced Virgil looking at him. He laughs a little before laying down and letting Virgil rest his head on his chest. They stay like that for the entire rest of the night. Neither of them are very hungry so they don't eat dinner. They just stay in their cabin and enjoy the presence of one another. The one word for both of them to describe this day with:
Magical.
