Chapter 10
The Most Unusual Date Ever
“Wait, what? Edward freakin Frost asked you out on a freakin date and you didn’t freakin tell me earlier?” Rose squealed loudly which caused Annabelle to gasp. “Keep your voice down Ro! And I swear if you say the damned word ‘freakin’ one more time, I’ll freakin kill you!” Annabelle was video chatting with Rose on her office computer. Today was her date with Edward, and even if she did try denying it, she knew she herself was ‘freakin’ excited to go. It was a date with the Edward Frost after all. The very same one on whose feet, a million girls threw themselves from all over the world and worshipped him as if he were a god. Which he was. A sexy Adonis.
Rose burst out laughing and cried between a fit of giggles, “What crawled up your ass huh? You should be jumping with joy that your very own dream man asked you out on a frea- woops! On a date!”
Annabelle frowned. “I never said that. He certainly isn't my dream man. I've barely just met him.”
Rose turned serious and cleared her throat. “Annabelle there is something that I need to confess to you. You see this is not exactly your first date with Edward.”
Annabelle’s eyes widened. “What do you mean?”
Rose sighed and was about to answer when they were interrupted by none other than the devil himself.
Edward had been restless the entire night. He spent it sleepless trying to decide how he would plan their date. He didn’t want it too over the top nor too ordinary and simple. He wanted it to be just perfect. It shouldn’t come out as if he was too desperate to woo her or else it would cause Annabelle to become suspicious of him.
After thinking long and hard, he had finally come up with a solution. This will be the most memorable and unusual date she has ever had with me. Even better than our date in Paris he thought. And that’s why he had arrived late at work.
But when he did arrive, the scene that he took in was beyond his wildest imaginations. There was Annabelle, sitting on her chair and video chatting with Rose. And that was not even what bothered him. It was what they were talking about that made him growl.
“....see this isn’t exactly your first date with Edward.”
That was all he needed to hear from the door before he barged in and interrupted them rudely just as Rose was about to confess to Annabelle.
“Annabelle! If you aren’t busy, I really need to have a good chat with you.” He hurried and stood before her table in all his glory.
“Um...” Annabelle just looked from Rose to Edward and back to Rose. Edward noticed it and simply said, “Alone please?”
Rose, who was frozen up until now, regained her posture as she immediately agreed. “I’m just gonna go...” and before Annabelle could even reply, Rose exited the chat and quickly logged off.
Edward heaved a sigh of relief while Annabelle looked suspiciously, narrowing her big eyes at him. Edward squirmed under her penetrating gaze that looked as if it could reach into his soul and catch hold of whatever he was hiding from her.
“What was that all about?” she asked still keeping Edward under her tight scrutiny.
Edward rubbed the back of his neck, which still made Annabelle’s stomach do back flips, and slowly replied, “I just wanted to talk to you.”
