Cheresse lay on her bed whiles flipping through some magazines. She then remembered to call her best friend Ruby. She picked on the second ring. Hello girlfriend, to what do I owe this unexpected call?

Oh please Red stop exaggerating, we spoke yesterday morning before I went off to school. What have you been up to?

Nothing much, just helping my mum with some errands. You know the usual.

Okay so there's this party at Angel's Grill and I'll like for you to go with me.

Whoa! Who are you and where is my best friend? Cheresse chuckled . What happened to you?

Well, I just want to socialize more plus I made some new friends. Just be here as soon as possible. The party starts at eight and it's already quarter to four. Get your ass here already.

Ten minutes later, Ruby was barging into Cheresse's room with a duffel bag hanging from her shoulder. That was fast. Wasn't expecting your lazy ass here this fast.

Well I'm here so what next? By the way I saw your parents making out in the hall. So tell me about these new friends you've made that have made you forget about me so soon ?

This made Cheresse roll her eyes. My parents just can't get their hands off each other for a second, gross . I met them just yesterday actually, nothing much really. They're the ones who invited me to the party. So what will you be wearing? I already have mine picked out.

Seriously tho, I don't know what to wear, I just picked out some dresses and jeans, nothing much .

Almost forgot, my dad got you some stuff, why don't you go through it and see if you'll find something you'll like to wear.

Oh okay nice. Your dad spoils me so much. Okay so I think I'll go with this burgundy dress shirt and black belt, paired with these black Jordans. What do you think?

Perfect. Let me just take a quick shower. I'll be right back. She came out of the bathroom with a pink robe around her body to find Red picking out her makeup.

Let's start getting ready. You know how long we take to get dressed.

Oh no, you take the longest time to get dressed. Don't try to add me to your wagon. Whatever Cheresse said as she dabbed her night creams unto her body. She went light on the makeup. Just some cherry lip gloss, mascara and powder. Oh and of course did her eyebrows. She also put on the four carat stud earrings with a cute silver chain with an angel pendant hanging from it. She then went on to put on her outfit which was a blue denim skirt and a black crop top and paired it with an oversized plaided shirt and Nike Air sneakers.

You look hot girl. So do you, said Cheresse. Let's get the pictures flowing. You know how we do it. So they took some pictures and Cheresse re-did her hair by holding it up into a high ponytail. She grabbed her purse and they finally got went downstairs to start their little journey.

Just look at these pretty girls, wow you look so stunning sweetie, Mr Parker said.

Thanks dad. Now the boys are going to be swooning and drooling over you girls. Stop put putting ideas in their heads, Mrs Parker cautioned.

Dad we're running late, we should get going.

Should I go drop you off? No they shook their heads. Okay so you already know. Don't stay past your curfew. I'll let the chauffeur come get you when it's almost time.

Okay dad. Be careful, Mrs Parker shouted after them. They finally got to the venue and exited the car. We're so late . Just as they stepped foot into the reception, she heard Shantelle shout her name.

You are so late. We've been waiting out here for you. Tracy just went inside.

I know I'm really sorry about that. Okay so this is my best friend Ruby but I call her Red, you can already tell why. Red meet my friend Shantelle, her best friend is Tracy, you'll meet her inside.

They said shy hello's and went inside. Let's get the party started. I'm so excited girl. New boys, food, booze and dancing woohoo, Shantelle ranted and did a happy dance. Which got the girls laughing. Oh there she is, she pointed at Tracy who had a cup in her hands. Tracy hugged Cheresse and gave Red a hand shake.

Let's go get something to drink. Cheresse got a fruit punch, while red got soda and Shantelle cocktail. Oh by the way I like your outfit Cheresse. That purse though, PRADA, Milano? Damn girl.

This made Cheresse blush and laugh. Thank you, you don't look bad yourself. As they walked back to Tracy, they were met by Damien, the star captain of their basketball team.

Girls this is Damien, he goes to our school. Meet my friends Cheresse and her bestie Ruby.

Hi, as you already know I'm Damien Williams, captain of Fountain hills , oh and all the girls love me. He smirked and Cheresse raised her brow.

Corky much? Shantelle chuckled. Anyways guys I'm hitting the dance floor, she wiggled her booty and dragged Tracy along with her.

Erm, Cheresse would you like to dance with me? He scratched the back of his head. I mean you don't have to if you don't want to. You know what I mean.

Cheresse smiled, of course I will. I'll be taking your friend for some few seconds if you don't mind.

Sure, have fun. It was awkward at first but then "you are the reason" by Calum Scott started playing. He placed his arms around her waist and pressed her to his chest whiles her arms went around his neck. They moved slowly to the tune. Cheresse's heart hammered in her chest.

You smell good, he said in her ear. Making her blush deep red. Erm... she couldn't get any word out and cleared her throat. This made him chuckle. You know what? Let's get out of here. All she could do was nod. He took her hand in his as the walked out of the room unto the balcony. Fresh air welcoming them. They sat on a bench at the corner of the wall.

Okay so I just want to know more about you, that is if you don't mind.

Not at all, I'm Cheresse Parker, sixteen years old, I'm an only child. I like to read, listen to music and travel. Yh, nothing interesting about me.

Lol, okay so I'm also an only child, which is annoying as hell, oh and a basketball player as you already know, he winked at her.

You're so full of yourself, she smiled. You should be really good then.

I'm not gonna blow my own trumpet. You can judge for yourself when you come watch me play in our first game next two weeks. What do you say?

Erm I don't know about that. I'm not into sports.
