"Lexi turn down that damned game already!"
"Can't right now mom, I'm fighting off some zombies."
I'm just going to skip the pleasantries. I'm Lexi, Lexi Starling. I'm Canadian with Caribbean heritage; I just thought I'd clarify that so you people know I'm dark skinned. Anyway I love playing video games, I'll tell you this now I'm not society's version of a "black teenage girl" so don't get your hopes up. I don't party all the time, I don't have a lot of "black" friends, I HATE rap music, I don't curse in a Caribbean accent and I don't go to parties every weekend. I like to keep to myself and I only have a few friends.
"Lexi, pause your game for a minute I need to tell you something." Ugh great, in a middle of a cut scene too.
"What is it mom?" I asked.
"Well ever since your father left we've been having a hard time keeping up with the bills, so I decided we are going to touch up our basement a bit and have a family move in with us."
A say what now? A family? I knew times were tough but I didn't think they we were this bad. As long as this "family" doesn't have any kids then I have no problem.
"Alright mom, I guess that's cool." She smiled at me relieved by my answer.
I mean how bad can it be right?
Wrong.
