Standing at the entrance to an ancient and abandoned castle was a 19 year old knight. He had short blonde hair and sapphire blue eyes. He wore a green cap, green tunic, white long sleeve undershirt, brown leather gauntlets, white baggy pants and brown leather boots. In his right hand was a sacred sword known as the Goddess Sword. In his left hand was a wooden shield. Hovering next to him was Fi, a spirit of blue and purple.
Fi turned towards the knight and said to him, "Master Link there's a 50% chance the ones who you're looking for are inside." The knight named Link nodded his head and replied, "You sure about that Fi? Your last little screw up almost cost me an arm. My sword arm to be precise." Fi giggled shyly and blushed as she replied, "My apologies master. It's been years since I've been in the world of the awoken. My skill of dousing is rusty."
Link let out a soft sigh and smiled. He then told Fi, "Well just don't let it ever happen again. Now then let's get going Fi." Nodding her head Fi giggled and blushed as she kissed his cheek. Link blushed himself as he examined the door to the castle. It was old and falling apart.
So Link slashed away at the door until it shattered into splinters. After that he headed inside the castle with Fi. Once inside they saw a terrible sight. There he was garbed in black and brown. He had an orange pompadour and a dark aura. Why his best friend had such an aura Link didn't know.
What he did know was that Groose held an unconscious Zelda under his arm. Fi gasped and shouted, "Oh no watch out Master Link! There's a definite 100% chance that your friend Groose is being possessed by an evil spirit! I even know which one!" Link narrowed his eyes and retorted, "Is that true Fi? I guess that there's no way around it. I'll just have to exorcise him. I did awaken as a shaman after all."
That's when he raised up his sword skyward and said, "Let's do this Fi! Spirit Integration!" She then became an orb of spirit energy and fused with the Goddess Sword. Charging up his sword Link swung it and shouted, "Heavenly Slash!" That's when a large shockwave of pure divine energy flew towards Groose.
Holding up his hand Groose blocked the shamanic spell. The dark aura was too potent to be penetrated by Link's current spirit energy level. As such the knight darted towards Groose, jumped in the air and swung his sword. To his great misfortune Link was blocked once again by the dark aura that was engulfing Groose. With a smirk Groose punched Link in the gut and sent him flying into a nearby wall.
Crumpling to his rear end on the floor Link groaned, "Damn... I can't believe it didn't work..." Groose then licked his own lips and said, "You have no hope of defeating me Link. I have the power that I've been searching for. It's time for you to meet your demise!" He then summoned a rapier and darted at Link.
With a smirk Groose thrust his rapier at Link. Link blocked the rapier with his wooden shield and rolled off to the side. Getting to his feet his sword began to glow and Fi told him, "Your enemy is not Groose but the evil spirit that has a firm grip on his body. His name is Ghirahim, the Demon Lord. Trust me I know all about him Master Link."
Link nodded his head and asked, "What exactly can I do to stop Ghirahim?" Fi then replied, "Block with you shield when he uses his rapier. Then disarm him by bashing the weapon out of his hand. Only then can you harm him. But then again you'll have to wait for the aura of darkness to die down."
Link nodded his head and waited for the possessed Groose to swing his rapier. Putting Zelda on the floor Groose walked over to Link and did exactly what the knight wanted him to do. Blocking with his shield Link then bashed Groose's rapier out of his hand. The sword clattered to the floor and Groose let out a guttural yell. Focusing all his dark energy into his fists he then pummeled Link with a flurry of punches. This sent Link flying again but into a pillar this time.
Slumping to the floor Link grunted and noticed that the dark aura was dying down. "This is my chance to strike back and exorcise him!" Link thought. Getting to his feet he dashed at Groose and jumped in the air. He then swung his sword down on Groose's chest, his life blood painting the floor around his feet red. As Groose fell to his knees he muttered under his breath, "This can't be happening. I lost?"
Link sheathed his sword and walked over to the injured Groose. Holding up his hand he started to chanted in ancient Hylian. It roughly translated into, "I call upon the spirits of the land. I conjure you up into my hand. To cleanse this spirit of hell. So listen to my shaman spell!" As he was chanting his body was glowing brightly with a majestic blue aura.
That's when the dark aura left Groose and he collapsed to the floor. The darkness hovered over Link like a sinister cloud. Hold up his shield Link then said, "If you are Ghirahim then you should leave this world! Pass on to the afterlife and never return!" There was a loud rumbling coming from the cloud of darkness. Next thing Link knew was that darkness filled the room and there was a loud screech.
