One year later
Kota looked at the charts, graphs, and pictures he had collected and looked up at them. "Hmmmmmm the energy source is getting stronger" he mutters and looked out of his window. He then walked out and jumped on the roof. "Hello stars" he said staring at the stars but his other pair of eyes were analyzing some papers in his hand.
   
Meanwhile earlier in the garrison
Lance and hunk were sneaking out their dorm. "I really think we shouldn't do this" hunk said nervously as he follows lance sneaking through the halls. "You know for a future space explorer you really don't have a sense of adventure" lance rolled his eyes as he looked around cautiously. "Yeah all of your little advetures always lead me to the the principals office." Hunk whined still following lance till they were at a corner. Lance instantly stops when he heard a door open, pidge looked both ways the snuck out of his dorm "where is he going"
They both followed pidge to the outside
Lance went up to him "you came here to walk out?" He asked lifting up pidge's headphone. Pidge only yelps and looked at them "oh! Lance just uh looking at...stars" he lied and shruggs. "Where'd you get this stuff doesn't look like garrison tech" lance said as he crossed his arms and raised a brow at pidge. "I built it" pudge said bragging abit looking at lance "you built all this?" Hunk asked as he got closer to touch the tech. Pidge only slaps hunks hand away "stop it" he huffs "with this thing I can scan all the way to the edge of the solar system" pidge sighs. "Impressive I admit, all the way to kerberos?" Lance asked, pudge only groans and looked down "you get mad everytime the instructors bring it up what's your deal?" Lance huffs. "Second warning hunk" pidge grumbles as he saw hunk try to grab his stuff. "You pidge we have to work on being a team so we can't be having any secrets" lance states "fine....The kerberos mission wasn't lost because of some monunfunction or crew mistake" pudge sighs as he looked at the two "stop touching my equipment!" Pidge yells hunk only groans and flops to his side. "So I've been scanning the system and picking up alien radio chatter" pudge in forms. "Woah what? Aliens?" Hunk sat up quickly in worry and looked at pidge. "Okay so your insane..got that" lance rolled his eyes "I'm serious they keep repeating three words, voltron and blue diamond, and tonight its going our crazier then I've ever heard it" he lifts up his little paper pad and showed lance and hunk "how crazy" lance he asked before an alarm started up. "Attention students this is not a drill we are on lock down security situation zulu-niner repeat
All students are to remain in campus until further notice"  an announcement spoke out. Hunk stood up and looked around "what's going on?" He asked then looked up "is that a meteor? I really really big one?" He asked in slight panick. Pidge brought out his binoculars and looked "it's a ship!" He exclaimed. Lance grabbed the binoculars and pidge stikl didn't let go so he was dangling "holy crow! I can't believe  it That's not one of ours" lance said as he looked "that's one of theirs." Pidge smiled as he looked "wait so their really are aliens out there?" Hunk asked. "He gotta see that ship" pidge exclaimed and picked up his stuff as he ran "hunk come on" lance said "ugh this is the worst team building exercise ever" hunk whined as he ran and followed.

With kota
Kota analyzed the charts on his wall "gh what does it all mean though those carvings don't make sense" he mutters. He rubbed his tramples as he went outside to relax for abit till he saw something fall from the sky "woah what the hell?" He mutters as he looked at it "wait...maybe this is the answer...maybe I can find an answer on that alien ship" kota said all excited. He ran into the shack again grabbing stuff he might need "wait....that thing landed near the garrison so they are probably gonna guard it and stuff" he sighs. He then grabbed his bombs to use it as a distraction for them. "Alright here I go" he smirked as he got on his hover-bike.

With the trio
Lance looked through the binoculars "woah what the heck is that!...and who the heck is she?" He purred "lance!" Pidge smacks lance to focus "ack! Okay ugh alien ship, man we'll never get pass all those guards." He sighs "oh well let's go back" hunk said as he then turns to start leaving "wait they set up a camera in there and I grabbed its fee look" pudge I forms. Hunk and lance got closer to see what it was

It showed a panicked shiro tied up in a bed "hey what are you doing?" Shiro asked panicked "cal. Down shirowe just need to keep you  quarantined  till we run some tests on you"  one of the doctors said trying to calm him down "you gotta listen to me!" Shiro struggled "they destroyed worlds ugh! Aliens are coming" shiro huffs.

"That's shiro the pilot of the garrison! Hes like my hero" lance said in awe. "So he really isn't dead in space after all" hunk mutters as he looked.

"Shiro do you k ow how long you've been gone" on of them asked "I dont know months? Years listen they are fully armed they'll destroy us! We need to find voltron and the blue diamond!" Shiro exclaimed as he struggled more.

"Man they aren't even gonna listen to him?" Lance asked. "How are we gonna get in" pidge asked "we'll need a distraction" lance mutters. Then he heard an explosion behind him far away. The guards went off to see what it was "what the heck was that!?" Lance exclaimed "are the aliens here? Are they attacking now?" Hunk asked panicked "those weren't an attack they were a distraction for him the garrison is going to see the blast and hes sneaking in from the other side." pidge pointed at kota as he was coming. "What?" Lance took a look "nuh uh that guy is not gonna grab shiro first" lance said as  he the ran towards the ship and all. "Wait what?" hunk asked as he followed lance "but who is he?" Pidge yells as he follows after.

With kota
Kota ran in quickly to see what's in the place. He entered to see the doctors still there "hey!" One of them shouted as they all went to attack kota. Kota only glared and kicked each of the doctor's butts and knocking them all out. Kota ran and put down his guard mask and looked down to see his four eyes widen "shiro?" Kota mutters before taking out keith's dagger and cut the restraints off of shiro. Kota covers his top eyes so no one else get freaked out as he picks shiro up. "No! Nope no no no I'm sharing shiro not you" lance huffs as he went to shiros other side. Kota looked down at him in confusion "who are you?" He asked raising a brow "uh that names lance?" Lance blinked two times "you know I'm from the garrison and basically a lead pilot because of some wash out named keith" lance bragged "weren't you a cargo pilot" kota asked recognizing him abit. "No I'm a pilot thank to that idiot" lance shruggs, kota glares slightly and starts walking "well congratulations" he mutters.

Outside
"Welp they are coming back and they do not looke happy" hunk said looking through the binoculars. "We have to go now"  pidge said just as lance and kota were coming out if the place with shiro and to kota's hover-bike. "Mind we take a ride with you?" Hunk asked as he ran to them, kota loaded shiro on and the others just got on, hunk went on and made the hover-bike go to one d
Side "is this thing even big enough to hold us?" Pidge asked as everyone got on. "No" kota huffs as he looked back at them then front and turned on the bike quickly and rode out fast with the trucks following them.
"Why am I holding this guy?" Pidge asked as lance gave shiro to him "hey we did all fit" hunk sighs. Lance looked fast an saw the trucks were gaining on them "can't this thing go any faster?" Lance asked looking forward "we can toss some unnecessary weight of the bike" kota huffs. "Oh right!" Lance said looking around before realizing "mkay so that was an insult I get it" lance huffs "big man lean left" kota informs hunk did as so and they went left quicker. "Jeezus we just killed our teachers..oh wait they are fine" hunk sighs "big man lean right" kota instructs. The jumped over a trench then we heading straight to a cliff "ha te te te guys! Is that a cliff dead ahead" junk asked in panick pointing everyone except kota and shiro started freaking out say no "yep" kota smirks as he goes faster. Kota rode off the edge and at this point everyone was screaming "what are you doing your gonna kill us all!" Lance yelled "shut up and trust me" kota yelled back. They landed safely and rode back to the shack. They then there had introduced themselves and just waited till shiro woke up in the morning.
