Warriors: Prophecy Fulfilled

Chapter 2

"All cats old enough to hunt in the snow gather beneath Mountainledge for a clan meeting!" Brightstar yowled, her yowl resonating around the rocky mountains. The cats swarmed out of their dens, meowing inaudibly. "Today is an important day for Blizzardclan, for we will have two new apprentices!" She continued. "Ravenkit, come here. Feathersong, I acknowledge your agility and swiftness. You shall be mentor to Ravenpaw, "Ravenkit, now Ravenpaw, looked up at his mentor with shining eyes. Feathersong gave Ravenpaw's nose a gentle bump. "And now, Fernkit! Come here, "Brightstar called. Fernkit excitedly climbed up onto the Mountainledge. "Echolight, I honour your intelligence and patience. Be a good mentor to Fernkit," Encholight proudly stood up and sat next to Fernkit. Fernkit nuzzled Echolight gleefully. Brightstar cleared her throat to get the clan's attention. "May Starclan watch over these two apprentices, " she declared.
" Ravenpaw! Fernkit! Ravenpaw! Fernkit!" the clan cheered. Ravenpaw, embarrassed, hid behind Feathersong. Fernkit flattened her ears, feeling awkward.
               As Brackenstorm took Brightstar's place on Mountainledge to organise patrols, Ravenpaw, Fernkit, and their mentors sat under a pine tree. Feathersong mewed, "Ravenpaw, I'll take you hunting around the mountains. If you're lucky, you might get a big bird or two!" Ravenpaw cast a look at Fernkit. "I'll catch something for you!" He meowed brightly. With that, Ravenpaw bounded off with Feathersong, leaving Fernkit and Echolight under the tree. "Go get the travelling herbs. I think you know which ones," Echosong said kindly. As Fernkit turned to get the herbs, Echolight called, "I'll meet you here later. We'll set off for the Moonpool in a bit." Fernkit acknowledged it with a wave of her tail, gleefully padding towards the medicine cat's den.
