Seven moons later....
"Gosh, where are all the warriors?" Dapplepelt asked. I heard they've gone out. Stormclan is trying to claim the pine tree area. "Brightleaf replied. Fernpaw, who was attending to the two elders, looked up at them. What? They've gone out to fight? They need a medicine cat! What if someone gets hurt?
"Sorry, you two. I've got to rush to the pine tree area. Before anyone gets too injured. "Fernpaw said, rushing towards the medicine cat's den. "Echolight! Let's go to the pine tree area! Our clanmates are fighting with Stormclan!"Fernpaw yowled. Echolight hastily stood up, grabbed a bundle of herbs in her mouth and ran with Fernpaw towards the fight.
Time seemed to slow down as the two medicine cats raced through the trees. Ravenpaw! My own brother! Is he okay? Fernkit felt worried as the wind whistled in her ears. Stopping right next to the crowd right next to the crowd of fighting cats, Fernpaw desperately looked around for Ravenpaw. Scanning the fight scene, she found him. His muscular gray body pinned a skinny russet tom to the ground, Ravenpaw was large for his age and was very strong. When the russet cat tried a belly rake on Ravenpaw, he quickly avoided it and retaliated with a front paw strike. The tom yowled in pain, blood oozing down from the side of his face. Yet the tom continued to fight. With an advantage, Ravenpaw clung onto the top of the russet tom's back. As quick as a fox, the russet tom flipped over, crushing Ravenpaw. "The pine trees are ours!" he growled. He bit Ravenpaw. On the back of the neck.
"Ravenpaw!NO!" Fernpaw screeched.
Ravenpaw fell to the ground, motionless as the russet cat raced away. "Wake up, Ravenpaw! Don't sleep! What happened to our promise of keeping each other company? Don't break the promise!" Fernpaw wailed, collapsing on the hard dirt ground. All fighting has stopped.
" Stormclan retreat!" the same russet cat called out. Silent, the Stormclan cats fled away from the forest.
Echolight stood in front of Ravenpaw, observing him closely. No breathing. "Ravenpaw has joined the Starclan, I'm sorry." She whispered. Fernpaw howled. The sky seemed to crash down on her.
