| CHAPTER TEN
Jungkook and Taehyung end up hanging out for a long while after cleaning up the dorm; deciding that they should get to know each other more, the two go off to a local 80s diner. Much to Taehyung's delight, as he's finally able to spend some quality time with his total dream boy of a roommate.
"So Jungkook, tell me about yourself," Taehyung makes small talk, as the two are seated in a booth, picking up some menus.
Jungkook, without breaking eye contact with the menu replies, "what would you like to know?"
Taehyung sighs shrugging, "I dunno, what high school did you go to?" He asks.
"I didn't go to high school," the boy replies, now looking up at Taehyung, catching the elder's shocked face.
"You didn't go to high school?" Taehyung asks, almost out of disbelief. Jungkook nods, confirming Taehyung question a second time. "How'd you get into one of the most prestigious universities then? I mean, I barely got in here and I was a straight A+ student, all through high school," Taehyung asks, becoming even more interested in the mysterious man's past. If that's even possible.
Jungkook smiles, shaking his head, "I was working in a lab, in the time I should've been in high school. We did a lot of work on gene mutations and at one point, trying to create new life forms. I guess the uni thought that was good enough to let me in," Jungkook lies smoothly. Although to his credit, the lab does to a lot of work with creating new life forms.
Taehyung finds himself being attracted to Jungkook about ten times as much as before, now completely captivated by their conversation. "New life forms? Like the beast that's running around?" He asks.
Jungkook nods knowingly, "yeah, although we try to steer clear of massive killing machines. I tend to work on creating new little house pets," Jungkook blatantly lies. While Taehyung is completely oblivious, believing every lie that spews out of his mouth.
"That's so cool, maybe I'll be able to come to your lab sometime," Taehyung suggests, hoping Jungkook will pick up on his flirtatious manner.
Jungkook shakes his head, "that, Babydoll, will never happen. The place is completely confidential, no one who is unauthorised goes in or out," Jungkook quickly shoots down that idea. "It isn't a playground, if everyone started taking their roommates to the lab, we'd have a few mutations running around the city. With the beast on the loose, I don't think we need another one."
Taehyung sighs disappointingly, but nods his head understandingly, "yeah, we don't need that happening."
Jungkook picks up on Taehyung's dampened mood, and an unusual feeling rises in him, "don't worry Princess; why don't you tell me about yourself now?" Taehyung perks up at the nickname, a dusty pink spreading over his cheeks.
"Well, I was born in Daegu, grew up in Geochang-gun but, I moved to Seoul for high school because my parents wanted me to get into this university," Taehyung briefly explains. Jungkook nods, completely fascinated by Taehyung. Even a the soulless beast can admit, Taehyung is quite the piece of eye candy. With his mismatched eyelids, perfectly round button nose, beautiful child-like boxy smile, sharp eyebrows, and the most exquisite caramel and honey coloured skin. Jungkook swears the boy's skin almost glistens in the yellowish light, of the diner. He could never get tired of staring at this masterpiece.
