"Prom? Talk to me!" You called as Prompto stormed out of the cottage, burning with the desire to just disappear. From one misunderstanding to another, he was an emotional wreck and just wanted time by himself to smooth things over. But now that he had been targeted by the worst possible rebel hunter in town, there was no way such a moment would happen. Prompto continued stalking towards the edge of Meldacio, past where Sania was hanging around, who was looking closely at the frogs they captured for her, oblivious to the scene nearby.

"Prom! Stop!" You yelled, running up to him and grabbing his wrist. Prompto in his anger jerked his arm out of your grasp. Not even the alarmed expression on your face was enough to pull him out of this.

"Stop? Why? So you can keep an eye on me? Is that it?" All Prompto could see was red. In his mind, he had every right to be angry. He had taken in so much and frankly, he had no idea how to process it all.

"What? Prom no! It's to keep you safe!"

"And you think I can't defend myself? That I'm some hopeless weakling that needs even your protection?"

"You are not weak!"

"I know that! But do you?" Prompto stared into your eyes when you remained silent, your eyes wide in shock. Sure you both had your trying times and arguments as a couple, but not once had either of you come close to raising your voices as one another. This was the first. "You think I did nothing while you were here in Meldacio (Your Name)? I trained harder than ever, day in, day out. I learned new fighting styles and practiced with the guys every chance I got, so I could become stronger and one day be the one protecting you!"

"What are you talking about?" You were close to tears from his words.

"I had to work way harder than you had to, to maintain my place in the Crownsguard (Your Name). Although I was always proud of you for your accomplishments, there was always a part of me that felt I was useless,"

"Prom. That's not true and you know it,"

"Right now, it doesn't feel any different. If you had known that fucking photo was a lie, why did you not tell me? You could have rung me, text me, emailed me. God, you could have done so much to tell me. That's all you had to do!" Prompto ignored the rain that was now pouring on him, hoping it would cover the fact that he was crying in frustration. "I lived how many years believing you cheated on me and wanted nothing to do with me anymore. Only to be reunited with you again, and find out you KNEW it was a set up. To find out about OUR daughter, who I'll never get to meet, let alone hold. And now, my life is supposedly being targeted by some batshit crazy rebel hunter, who just wants my girl all to himself," Prompto could feel his anger rolling off him as he continued ranting, feeling a new pain in seeing your face drenched in tears as you listened to him. You were still dry, standing under the cover of the rock tunnel Meldacio was based under, while Prompto remained less than a meter away from you, standing in the sudden downpour of rain.

"Prom..." You whispered, "I'm sorry! It's not like I meant to make you feel this way,"

"Oh? I'm not even finished yet!" Prompto scoffed. The sarcasm in his tone sounding venomous. "What the heck were you talking privately with Ignis? That because I might be targeted, and now Noct could be in danger?" Your eyes widening in shock the second time confirmed the gunslinger's hunch. "You think I don't think of these things (Your Name)? You and the rest say you don't fucking doubt my abilities, but you are all doing exactly that!"

"That's not true Prom! Please! Stop!" Your words just made Prompto laugh mockingly, pacing himself in the rain, shaking the rain from his hair and knowing it wouldn't do much.

"You always said we would hold nothing back. So why?" Prompto choked, "Why are you holding everything important back from me of all people?" Prompto yelled out in anger, pacing again and unable to look at you.
